elevated pdQBa Rosalina Moscosa, 96, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt & cousin, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026. Nanay, as she was lovingly called by her children, was survived by Norlita, Fe (Etchel,) Lito & Joseph (children), her grandchildren, JD, Jeremy, Lorelei, Liam, Joshua and Ryleigh and children-in-laws, Joseph (Joe), Russel and Leonora (Liezl). She is now reunited with her parents, Leonardo Moscosa and Maria Geradila. She was born in Eastern Samar, Philippines and later moved to the city of Manila in her early 20s where she met her partner/husband, Siok Lao, the father of her 4 children. She was first in the Moscosa family to go to the city and after she met her partner/husband, was able to assist some of her nieces and nephews who had come to Manila, as well as accommodate them for a while in their home. She was loving and generous to the point that some people took advantage of her kindness.

elevated pdQBa While in the Philippines with her young children, she enjoys treating them to watch movies, especially the double featured ones. She even sometimes includes non family members to join and watch movies with them.

elevated pdQBa She was a very devoted Roman Catholic woman who always attended Sunday Mass, prayed the Rosary, Angelus and the Divine Mercy prayers daily. She was a good cook but a very critical one as well. When her partner/husband died 49 years ago, she worked hard to raise her 4 children by herself who were between the ages of 6 to 19 years old at that time.

elevated pdQBa She moved to Toronto Canada 38 years ago with her 2 youngest children, Joseph & Lito after her oldest daughter, Norlita (Baby), sponsored them to come to Canada. A year later, her second daughter, Fe (Etchel), followed completing the whole family.

elevated pdQBa In Canada, she worked as a housekeeper, caregiver & worked part-time in a small nursing home. After she turned 65, she tended the garden daily and doted on her grandchildren. She also loved to play Bingo when family & friends gather during get-togethers of the whole clan. She is considered the most senior and revered head of the Moscosa family in Canada. She plays Chinese Checkers with one of her children and had never been beaten by her daughter – not even once.

elevated pdQBa She will be lovingly remembered by her family both here in Canada and the Philippines.
