elevated Le1Kb Obituary
elevated Le1Kb It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rose Mary Bacchet on March 11, 2020. Cherished daughter of Luigia and the Late Luigi. Beloved sister (and best friend) to Lucy. She will also be sadly missed by her dear aunts (Zia Dina and Nella) and many cousins in Italy, as well as her many friends. Rose was the light and spark in our family. Family came first for Rose. She always told us how much she loved us and was always there for us.
elevated Le1Kb Rose Mary taught for the Toronto Catholic District School Board. She was passionate about teaching and dedicated to her students. She wanted the best for all her students so that they could become successful independent learners. Rose had a particular interest in working with students with special needs and was always looking for ways and resources to support them.
elevated Le1Kb Rose was very good natured, with a wonderful sense of humour and beautiful smile. She was very kind, generous and compassionate, always willing to lend a helping hand.
elevated Le1Kb Rose enjoyed the simple pleasures in life … a latte on her drive home from work, lunch with friends, time with family, cooking, shopping, music, watching a Raptors game, walks along Ramsey Lake …
elevated Le1Kb Due to the recent concerns raised by the spread of the Coronavirus, a private funeral mass has been held. The family will arrange for a memorial mass in the future when they can be surrounded by family and friends to help them honour Rose Mary’s life.

Dear Lucy,
Sincerest condolences to you and your mom on the loss of your cherished sister and daughter. I know how much Rose meant to each of you and her loss is surely devastating. May all the fond memories you shared with Rose sustain you during this very sad time.
I only knew her as Miss Bacchet – the nicest and sweetest first grade teacher a child could have. She supported my love for reading and taught me not to lie. I always wanted to hold her hand during recess. It saddens me to hear of her passing, but I hope it brings the Bacchet family comfort to know that her kindness has resonated with so many of us and helped shape us into the people we are today.
Dear Lucy and Mom,
I was so saddened to hear of Rosemary’s passing. It was a pleasure to have worked with her at Divine Infant School. She truly understood the meaning of “people will not remember what you said but how you made them feel”. This was especially true for her students. She will forever be an example of how to live life happily, meaningfully and gratefully. Her memory will live on in your hearts and bring you much comfort knowing you now have a loving ambassador in heaven.
Rose,
You will be missed. Thank you for inspiring me to be the educator I am today. You’ve always stood by my side when we worked at DI and for that I thank you. I will remember our laughs and funny stories and cherish them in my heart. Next time, when I read to the kiddos and see your name of the books you have given me, I promise I’ll look up to heaven and say hi 🙂 Love you!
Dear Mrs. Bacchet and Lucy

Dear Lucy and Luigia – my deepest and most heartfelt condolences to you both! May Rose’s Beautiful smile and cherished memories give you strength and comfort you through this very sad and difficult time. Rose had been a great educator, role model, an inspiration to us all and had touched the lives of so many. Ms. Bacchet,
You were my first teacher at Divine Infant, all the way back to the second grade
(2001!). I remember being so nervous to enter a new school, but you made me feel safe and cared for. I always knew I could come to you for reassurance, comfort, and encouragement. I was so happy that you were my teacher again in Grade 3. I always said you were my favourite teacher and that never changed. Your creativity always struck me and made me feel I could be that good at arts and crafts too, haha. I still have that basket you taught me how to weave out of yarn, and the stained-glass/tissue paper vase you had us make for one mother’s day many years ago.
You went above and beyond for all your students, every year. You really cared. My brothers and I were each so blessed to have been your students. My entire family adored you. Even after my brothers and I left D.I., you never forgot us, and made us feel just as special each time we visited. You were one of a kind, and I’ll never forget you.
My deepest condolences and prayers are with your family during this time.
Love,
Sarah and the Brown family
I am so sadden & shocked to learn of your passing we kept saying we will met for coffee! We always remembered our fun days when I volunteered to help I your class for few years. Your smile, laughters and the wonderful way you had with your students helped me get my first job with the Catholic school board thanks for your encouragement and recommendation.
Let perpetual light shine upon your soul Rest In Peace Rosemarie/ Miss Bacchet . Miss you so much.
My heartfelt condolences to Rose Mary Bacchet’s family.
It really saddens me to know that Rose Mary, such a wonderful, kind, and loving person is no more with us.
Dear Rose Mary, I will miss you very much. I will miss your cheerful smile, your happy laughter, and I will miss very much chatting with you after school whenever I supply teach at The Divine Infant. The warmth and sincerity you impart is what I will never forget. Thank you for your friendship, for your time, and for your kindness. Thank you for the opportunity to supply teach your class.
Everybody knows Ms. Bacchet was a very dedicated and caring teacher. We all thank God for her.
May you rest in eternal peace, Rose Mary. Love, Agnes Yu
Dear Lucy and Luiga,
My heart breaks for you both, and for all of us who were touched by Rose Mary’s friendship, generosity of spirit and compassion for the many students whose lives she changed. I will miss her sweet smile and her sense of humour. May she fly with the angels and watch over us all.
My genuine and deepest condolences to the family of Ms. Rose Mary Bacchet.
A decade ago, I was a student in Ms. Bacchet’s 3rd grade class. Even now, I remember her warm, bright persona and how considerate she was to me and my classmates. Looking back, I can tell she truly worked hard and cared about her students.
Ms. Bacchet’s passing is truly a loss. I pray that strength, peace, and blessing may surround her family and loved ones. Ms. Bacchet, you will be greatly missed.
My condolences to Ms. Bacchet’s family.
She was my favorite teacher while growing up at Divine Infant. With numerous cherished memories singing “Take a Walk to Christmas” from our choir, she has encouraged me to follow my dreams.
“Let’s take a walk together, towards a star so bright”.
Nathan Hsieh
Please accept my sympathy.
Miss Bacchet was my grade 1 teacher in the 1990/1991 school year.
She had a tenderness and fairness in the way she handled her students which leaves a lasting impact of a lifetime.
She was so thoughtful and really brought the best out of us. She always made sure that my holiday art projects were laminated so that I could have laid them by my late mother’s graveside and she recognized the ways that my learning was impeded after suffering such a loss at such a young age. For this, I am grateful – the world needs more teachers like her, for sure.
May she rest in perfect peace 💞🙏🏿😇🙏🏿💞
Dear Lucy,
I was so very sad to read of your sister’s passing. I know that you had a very close connection with Rose: a wonderful relationship of sisterly love and affection. The messages from her former students are a great testament to the kind of person and educator she was. I hope that the memory of your strong relationship will provide comfort and support you and your mother in this time of grief. I am keeping you in my prayers.
Thinking of you at this sad time and sending you my deepest heartfelt condolences.
I am saddened to hear of your dear sister’s passing and I wish to offer you and your mother my condolences. May the Lord bless and comfort you and your family during this difficult time and may Rose’s soul be at peace with our Heavenly Father.
Very sad news. Ms Bacchet was a favourite for many who attended The Divine Infant. I was fortunate to be in her class for both grades one and two. I have never had an educator as caring and patient as she was. The warm and comforting environment that Ms Bacchet created in her classroom remains an unforgettable experience for me. She loved being a teacher and loved all of her students as if they were her own children. She has impacted the lives of hundreds and she will be missed by all. My condolences to her friends and family.
My condolences to the Bacchet family.
Ms. Bacchet was my Grade 3 and 4 teacher during the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 school years respectively. I always loved coming to her class, because everyday I would be learning something brand new through her interactive hands-on way of teaching. Whether it was knitting pencil jar covers for us, making banana muffins, giving us cartoon erasers, or having class outside, she knew how to make learning enjoyable. Those two years in her class were one of the best years of my time at The Divine Infant Catholic School, and she was truly one of the most impactful and influential individuals I have had growing up.
May your soul rest in peace, Ms. Bacchet.
Lucy, so sorry to hear the news of your sister, Rose. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your Mom and your family at this difficult time.
Take care,
Lyn

My deepest condolences Lucy! I just found out today that Rose had passed away. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family during this time of profound sadness. Rose was a beautiful person.
Dear Mrs Bacchet and Lucy
I am so very sad to read this today. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy. I know you’re missing her dearly. Rosie was an amazing best friend and I wish we had kept in touch. I think often of you as I drive by your home on Howey Dr, of all of the amazing memories of time spent with her and your family, the sleep overs, the meals, our neighborhood friends, her standing in my wedding, the hours spent playing on Tarneaud St. The messages here attest to the amazing person that she was. Thinking of you both with fondest thoughts.

My heartfelt condolences to the family. Ms. Rose Bacchet was my Grade 3 teacher in 1979/80 at St. Florence, covering a maternity leave. I was an extremely shy child and Ms. Bacchet always made me feel so special. I remember thinking to myself that she was the most beautiful person, both inside and out. I was extremely sad when she left St. Florence. I called her a couple of times on the phone after she left and she always sounded so happy to hear from me – that meant the world to an 8 year-old child like me! I hope it comforts her family to know that her loving, caring, beautiful spirit will live on in the hearts and memories of her students like me.
I was going through my old report cards from our Lady of GOod Counsel and saw (once again) Miss Bacchet’s neat, tidy kindergarden teacher writing for my junior kindergarten report card, 40 years ago dated 1981. Oh! the image of her young and lovely face flashed in my mind as I remember it from the class photo. I wondered what had become of my first remembered teacher and turned to internet It was sad to find she had passed, before her time, and has taken me some time to come back to leave this note. She’s still as lovely and sweet in her demeanour despite the years. My deepest condolences to her family. The four year old now 44 years old still remembers her fondly. Thank you Miss Bacchet.
I am very deeply saddened to learn of Ms. Bacchet’s passing. Having only just learned of her passing as I type this, in 2022, it comes as a shock that I did not know much sooner.
As a former student at Divine Infant Catholic School, where I was taught by Ms. Bacchet in grade 2, I have extremely happy and fond memories of my time under her instruction. Everyday we were in class, Ms. Bacchet showed us a unique kind of love and dedication to us as students, which acted as an extension of that which we were shown at home, by our parents. I will always remember her classroom to be presented and arranged with all kinds of projects, pictures, stencils, and a multitude of colourful classroom decorations on the walls and chalkboard that welcomed students to this warm and loving place to learn.
Ms. Bacchet never faultered in showing her sheer dedication and passion for teaching, day in, day out.
I can speak for other former students in my cohort when I say that teachers like her always leave a lasting impression that we will remember for life.
Beyond just teaching the required curriculum, Ms. Bacchet brought a very special combination of love and magic to the classroom.
Ms. Bacchet, you will forever be missed by all your students and your wonderful family and friends. The memory of how you’ve positively touched and influenced so many students throughout your time as a teacher, in your own special way, can never be duplicated. May you rest in peace.
My dearest RoseMary, you left us too soon. During my 17 years at The Divine Infant we were best friends! We did so many things together, including bringing our mom’s to a Mother’s Day brunch together. I remember that when my daughter needed help with her Math, Rosemary took the time to help her. Your kindness an genuine caring was so appreciated. You are greatly missed here in the physical world. I know that you are at peace and close to us in spirit. I will always remember our time together and you will always be in my heart. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of you. I will pray for your soul.🙏🏻❤️ Thank you for blessing me with your friendship.
