Good bye my dear friend and Mentor in Soccer.
The game has lost a true benefactor.
On Behalf of the Toronto Soccer Referees’ Association we would like to extend our condolences.
Sam was a beloved member of the referee community here in Toronto and the GTA.
Sam was a fantastic referee and a great mentor in the Soccer Community. If you developed as a Referee in the Toronto area you were almost gauranteed to be honoured to work with a legend like Sam and learn a thing or two about using personality to manage a game. He was an active member of the TSRA, always particpating in the annual social events and education sessions. He volunteered his time at The Robbie and was always available to give a helping hand to the new youth referees.
Sam had a true love for the game and that showed with his commitment to Refereeing for over 40 years.
A true gentleman and a legendary official.
Rest in Peace Sam. We will miss you dearly.
A 3 whistle salute for you my friend.
