elevated LOT2k It is with immense sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Salvatore “Sam” Macchia, on January 2, 2024, at the age of 50.
Beloved and devoted husband of Lisa (nee Colavecchia) for 25 years and adored father of Isabella and Giuliano. Cherished son of Pietro and Maria Macchia and loving older brother of Tiziana (Joe Scrocco). Loved son-in-law of Lucy (Kevin Haire) and the late, Albert Colavecchia. Greatly missed by Nonno Nick, his sister-in-law, Diana (Fabio Doria). Admired by his nieces, Elena, Veronica, Simona and his nephew, Roman.
Sam was the strong, silent type, who had a big heart and bigger bear hugs for those he greeted. Above all, Sam was dedicated to his family, who filled him with joy. He was a wonderful, caring husband and proud father. Sam worked beside his Dad at Royal Machining & Repairs Ltd, where he forged many great relationships and helped build and grow the family business. Sam enjoyed comedy, retelling dad jokes, loud music, playing cards and gittone. Even during difficult times, Sam always found a way to smile and laugh. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

To Lisa… words may not take away the hurt, but may the shared memories that will always be told of Sam bring you a smile and warmth, till you are together again.
To Giuliano and Isabella… though I haven’t seen your Dad often in recent years, he always remained an important person in my life who was respected and admired by myself and others I used be around him with. I wish I told him this more often; always honour him by doing so with each other.
To Tiziana, Pietro & Maria… our families have known each other all my life. Though we may not be related by blood, you’ve always been family in my mind.
To Sam… the earliest memories of you I can remember through this emotional haze were of you, Tiziana and myself as children in a wading pool in your parents’ backyard in your old home in the Tavistock area. In our teenage years, as you sponsored and guided me, showed me friendship and love… in our adult years, catching up after hockey in Bolton… and all the in-between memories… I will never forget them. Til we meet again and catch up on missed time together. Thank-you. 💗
