elevated awEh4 Peacefully on Friday March 15, 2019. Loving husband of the late Christobel. Devoted father of Ciaran, Darius (Rosanne), Killian, Farhad, Liam and Mariam (Carlo). Beloved grandfather of Sara, Aidan, Stephen and Shane. Dear brother of Mani, Feroze, Nari and Dinaz. Will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends. The family wishes to thank the Palliative Care staff at Markham Stouffville Hospital.

I just heard the sad news of Sam passing away. I knew Sam since 1972 when he gave me my first job in Canada. I did not stay in Scintrex for long but we were seeing each other at the annual gathing at Joe Strever’s house.
He was a very kind boss and a very good teacher. I will always remember him as a very good friend.
May god bless his soul and patience to all the loved ones.
Dearest Mariam, your faithfulness to your dear father is unsurpassed. Enjoy your beautiful memories. He has rejoined your Mom. Rejoice.
I was lucky enough to meet Sam once. He welcomed me into his home like I was family. I will miss him.

Truly sad news and my heartfelt condolences to all members, near and far, of his family. I had the immense pleasure of working with Sam at Scintrex in the mid-90’s when he was close to his retirement and I was just starting my career there. A truly wonderful and cultured man. The world was better with him.

I met Sam in 1976 when I moved to Unionville with my family. Our boys played together and have stayed in touch over the years. He was a wonderful warm gentle man. He had a fine wit, a ready smile and hearty welcome. He will be missed by many. My condolences to his family. He is in my prayers. God speed Sam.

I met Sam in Scintrex in 1970. Sam was a great leader in his field of Research and a great believer in the potential of his team.
Later, after retirement, we got together and Sam was a great story teller too. We did enjoy his friendship, was a pleasure to have known him.

I met Sam at Scintrex upon taking my first job after graduation. He really supported my love of English sports cars and would even lend me his Morgan Plus 4. I am truly saddened to learn of the passing of this charming and very intelligent man.
Through an “accidental” computer error, an old email of your Dad’s came up (from 2012) and by searching on his name, I learned of his passing earlier this year. Your Dad and I worked together at the National Bureau of Standards in Washington, DC for 6 months. This led to a collaboration on a book that we published 5 years later on the technique that your Dad spent his career refining and applying…neutron activation analysis. My wife, Bobbi and I have fond memories of our association with your Mom and Dad while in Washington. Our paths separated when I returned to Kodak in Rochester and he moved to Toronto. We fondly recall visiting your home in Markham while your family was still young. Your Mom and Dad were wonderful people and parents and we share our prayers with you in honoring them, the life they led and the heritage that they passed along to their children. May God bless you all.
Dr. Nargolwalla received his doctorate in Nuclear Science from the University of Toronto in 1965, along with his classmate Auseklis Perkons. Both were extremely gifted, and, in fact, both played guitar. ‘Dr. Sam’ played flamenco guitar, and in their early days, he and his Irish sweetheart danced and played flamenco as buskers. I had the pleasure of doing an errand for Dr. Sam to purchase a capo from a specific address in Madrid, while there on business working for Scintrex. He, and Otto Legrady, were some of the nicest people I ever worked for in my (now) long career in electronics, where Otto got me started. I remember Dr. Sam being stern and deadly serious one second, switching to being cheerful and smiling in the next. Such was Dr. Sam Nargolwalla – – a great man and human being.
