It is with sadness and much love that we announce the passing of Santino “Sandy” Ignoto in Vaughan, surrounded by the love of his family.
elevated aZ48k Sandy was born in Cosenza, Italy to the late Francesco and Ida Ignoto. Beloved husband to Paula (nee Carnevale) with whom he shared 48 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, devotion, and cherished memories.
elevated aZ48k He was a proud and loving father to Ronny, Gregorio (Enza), the late Giefriano (Lidia) and Diane. Proud Nonno of Alessandro, Sofia, Isabella and Marcus.
elevated aZ48k Sandy will be lovingly remembered by his brothers Joseph (Connie), Carmen (Anna) and Tony (Anna). Sandy was predeceased by his first wife Nellie (nee Massaro) in 1975.
elevated aZ48k He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, colleagues, neighbours and all those whose lives he touched and who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
elevated aZ48k Sandy was a hair stylist by profession; he was passionate about his work and cherished the relationships he built throughout his career
elevated aZ48k Sandy’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
elevated aZ48k In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations in Sandy’s memory be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

My deepest condolences to Sandy’s family and loved ones.
I had the privilege of knowing Sandy for many years as a neighbour and fellow salon owner. He was always a kind, gentle, and respectful man, and someone I truly appreciated knowing throughout the years.
I feel especially saddened knowing that I saw him only last week. I gave him a hug and offered my condolences on the loss of his son. I never imagined that it would be the last time I would see him.
Sandy will be remembered with great respect and affection by so many people whose lives he touched throughout his long career and his life.
May he rest in eternal peace, and may his family find strength and comfort in the beautiful memories he leaves behind.
