elevated a00A3 Santo passed away peacefully at home in his 97th year in Toronto. Beloved husband of 64 years to the late Giovanna Morra; loving father of Lucia (Giovanni), Carmelo (Emily) and Rocca (Randy); Nono to his 6 grandchildren, Angelo (Domenica), Santino (Siobhan), Jordan (Natalie), Lucas, Christian (Siebrin), Rebecca (Michael); and great-grandfather to Gianmarco, Alessandro, Michaela, and Olivia.
elevated a00A3 Santo was born in Monteleone di Puglia, Italy, and immigrated to Canada in 1958. He was joined by his family in 1960. He and Giovanna worked hard to make a life for their family in Toronto, supporting their children and celebrating their successes. They bought their first house in East York in 1962 and made one move to Scarborough in 1987 to be close to their daughter Lucia and her husband Giovanni. Santo worked as a tool & die maker for a car manufacturing company for over 25 years.
elevated a00A3 We have so many great memories of family get-togethers, sharing the most delicious homemade food and wine, followed by a game of bocce. Santo was unbeatable, even in his later years when he lost his ability to see, he was somehow able to win regardless of his limitations. And, he actively worked on his prized vegetable garden until his 95th year. He had a great sense of humour and enjoyed his life to the fullest – always demonstrating a strong work ethic, a faithful spirit, and love for his family. He would often tear up when he saw us all together, it made him so happy. We are grateful for all he taught us.
elevated a00A3 In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice in Santo Morra’s name.
elevated a00A3 Due to the restrictions at this time, there will be a private funeral for immediate family only on Monday December 14th, 2020.

Dear Aunt Lucia and Uncle John, Our deepest condolences to you and your siblings and our dear cousins and all your extended family. We are all so sad over your loss and that we aren’t able to grieve together and support each other in person. Our late dad (Rocco) had shared nice memories of Santo from his childhood, and they still kept a close bond over the years and Santo was so good at visiting and encouraging him during his illness. I also have many nice memories of our families visiting each other at O’Conner. I will always keep a memory of how gracious, loving, and appreciative of life and his family he always was, and the beautiful love and respect your parents had for each other. All his goodness and influence shows in how wonderful all your family is. I often recall one of his comments that despite what happens around us, that We are Living in a Garden, which I thought was so profound and helped me put things in a better perspective, and showed his great attitude about everything. That memory along with many others of him will always stay with me. May happy memories help comfort you at this difficult time. Our sympathies and thoughts are with you all.
Nina, Lucia, Michael and your families.
