It is with heavy hearts that the Aguanno Family announces the passing of Santo “Sandy” Aguanno at the age of 86. With origins from Vita, Sicily in Italy Santo grew up and was raised in Mimico Ontario. He is predeceased by his mother Rose (nee Mezzapelli), father Sebastian, brothers Joseph and Sam. Santo was an uncle and cousin to many as well. Santo leaves behind his beloved wife and life partner of 60 years Helen, his son Paul (Linda), daughter Rosemary (Peter), daughter Christine (Rob). Santo was the extremely proud Grandfather/Nonno to Anthony, Erica, Laura,Melissa, Olivia, Jack, Christian and Juliana.
elevated hpUFA Santo had an illustrious 30 year upper Management career with the Federal Government (Employment Immigration). Upon retiring Santo became a successful Realtor focusing on commercial real estate. Santo never really stopped working and networking he loved people.
elevated hpUFA Santo was a simple man from very humble beginnings that put family above all else. Santo was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus, a practicing Catholic and volunteer at St. Martha and Mary’s parish, baseball coach to Paul and was involved in Charities in Mississauga such as the United Way.
elevated hpUFA Some of Santo’s favourite memories were at the family cottage on Lake Simcoe, family trips, Las Vegas and Florida. Santo had a passion for sports, fishing, the stock market, sunny days at Woodbine racetrack, Sunday family pasta dinners and afternoons at the Casino with his Wife Helen, brother Joe and sister inlaw Beverly.

Dear Aunt Helen, Paul, Rosemary, Christine and families,
Our hearts are filled with sorrow upon hearing the news about Uncle Sandy’s passing. He will always be remembered with fondness for his sense of humour, keen mind, and for his resemblance in both appearance and mannerisms to our father/grandfather. We all miss his probing conversations.
May our heartfelt condolences bring all of you comfort, and may our prayers ease the pain of your loss. We wish you all peace and courage to face the days ahead and loving memories of Uncle Sandy to hold forever in your hearts.

My sincere condolences to Sandy’s family. I grew up with Sandy on Melrose St in Mimico. My brother Wes Brown & I hung out a lot together as kids, I have many good memories of Sandy, his parents, Sam & Joe. I’m so pleased to hear of Sandy’s success in life & his beautiful family. God speed Sandy.
