elevated 7VOVe After a brief battle with cancer, J. Sean Rourke passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto on February 5, 2020.
elevated 7VOVe He leaves behind his beloved daughter Alma Sofia, parents Dianne & John Rourke, sisters Stephanie Jackson (Rob), Jennifer Saagi (Tom), Kelly Rourke (Gary), and his many nieces and nephews, extended family, and a large circle of friends.
elevated 7VOVe The family is heartbroken, but they take comfort knowing his gentle spirit lives on within each of them.

We were so sorry and sad to hear the news about Sean. We didn’t really know him or his immediate family but we do know John and Dianne and we can’t imagine what they’re going through at this time.
My family joins me in sending our love and heartfelt sympathy, please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.
I met Sean in 1999 on the set of Robocop. I’ve worked with him on many shows. I’m gutted. He was a great man, a born leader who loved his craft and gave it his all. He knew how to get things done especially hard tasks. He made you laugh. He showed you a smart way to work. He was loved and respected. I miss him. Now he has gone far too soon. My heartfelt sympathy to the family and friends he left behind.

Dear Rourke family,
I am so sorry to hear of Sean’s passing. As kids, Sean was such a gentle soul and good friend to everybody he came into contact with. I’ll always remember recess foot hockey games that lasted 3 weeks, riding bikes around the neighborhood till after dark, and birthday parties in the Rourke basement. Sean was always there, making sure everyone was included and having a good time. It’s not hard to imagine him being the same kind of adult and father. And I’m certain he’s watching us all now with that same happy grin.

Dianne, John and family, we were shocked and so very sad to hear about the sudden passing of your beloved son Sean. I only met Sean a few times, a very nice young man. Alma will need the strength of family to surround her in the devastating loss of her father. Remember the good times and in the days ahead find peace.

Diane, John, Alma Sophia and family. I was so sad to hear of Sean’s passing. I have many pleasant memories of our sons in their youth growing up together and forming long lasting friendships.

I don’t know what to say. We lost touch. He was a better person than most I’ve known. Loved his parents , sisters and more than anything Alma. Im sorry for those not mentioned ( of whom there are many).
