It is with profound sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Serina Moretto on July 13, 2026, at the age of 94.
elevated nyaet Born in town of Fiume Veneto, in the Province of Pordenone, Italy, Serina carried with her throughout her life the values of family, hard work, kindness, and generosity. She was the beloved wife of the late Adriano Moretto, with whom she shared many happy years before his passing.
elevated nyaet Serina was a devoted homemaker whose greatest joy was caring for her family. Her home was always warm and welcoming, and no one ever left without feeling loved. She was known for her gentle nature, genuine kindness, and generous spirit. Whether welcoming family and friends through her door or sharing her homemade baking—especially her biscotti Serina had a special way of making everyone feel at home.
elevated nyaet In addition to her dedication to her family, Serina generously volunteered as a canvasser for the Canadian Cancer Society, giving her time in support of a cause that was important to her. She also enjoyed many years as a member of a bowling league and the Famèe Furlane, where she formed lasting friendships and created many happy memories.
elevated nyaet Serina leaves behind her loving sons, Rudy (Cathy) and Gary. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Daniel (Sara), Andrew, and Sara, and a cherished great-grandmother to Marcus, Emma, and Alina, all of whom brought immeasurable joy to her life.
elevated nyaet Although her family mourns her passing, they take comfort in the many wonderful memories they shared with her and in the legacy of love, compassion, and kindness she leaves behind. Her gentle smile, warm embrace, and welcoming heart will be deeply missed but forever treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Our heartfelt condolences to all of you. Serina was a welcomed visitor to our family home where many spirited conversations took place with the “gang” of couples who laughed together, dined together and planned together many dinner dances for the Fiume Club. Serina was always asking Adriano why he had to swear/“bestema” in her gentle way and he would just carry on swearing .. all of which made everyone laugh even harder. Your mother was a beautiful and kind woman who always had a smile on her face when she saw you and made you feel at home when you visited. I have so many wonderful memories of Serena while on Erie Street as well as after Erie Street. She will truly be missed, but never forgotten. May all the wonderful memories and the love of family and friends help you through this sad time. May Serena Rest in Peace.
