elevated TscSj 1932 – 2025
elevated TscSj Sheila passed away on May 11, 2025 after many years of dealing with Parkinson’s Disease. Survived by her number one fan and loving husband, Bob, and their four daughters: Anne-Marie (Edward De Jong), Kathleen (Drew Fagan), Jennifer (Jeffrey Prior) and Monica (Michael Roszak), and by seven grandchildren to whom she was devoted: Christopher, Jeffrey, Jenna, Emma, Aidan, Paige, Claire, and three great-grandchildren, Brielle, Ava and Kai. She was predeceased by her infant daughter, Claire, and her youngest daughter, Elizabeth, who died tragically of brain cancer in 2017. Even though separated by distance, she remained close to her sister Joan Erskine (Norman, deceased) of Winnipeg, and her brothers James Delanty (Monica) of Huntington Beach, California, and Peter Delanty (Suzanne) of Cobourg. She is fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, and her many cherished friends throughout her life.
elevated TscSj A native of Cobourg, Sheila enjoyed playing tennis and bridge most of her adult life, and was a dedicated volunteer to countless causes, and an award-winning volunteer at Hospice Thornhill. She had a prodigious memory of significant family events and was an entertaining storyteller. Blessed with a strong faith, she was a longtime member of St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Parish in Thornhill and more recently at Our Lady of Grace in Aurora. The family will receive friends at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, 211 Langstaff Road East (west of Bayview Avenue), from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 16. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place within the funeral home in the Chapel of St. Joseph on Saturday, May 17 at 10:30 a.m. The final rite of committal and interment will take place following the Funeral Mass.

We were so sorry to hear of Sheila’s passing. Our fond memories of the wonderful Gallivan family, as our next door neighbours and patients for so many years allowed us to enjoy watching both of our families grow and thrive.
Respectfully we send our deepest condolences to Bob and family.
Dear Resa and Marshall,
Thank you both for your kind thoughts. We certainly miss you and our Julia Street neighbours and friends.
Although Sheila was diagnosed with Parkinsons almost 8 years ago, it became debilitating only the past couple of years. She suffered a catastrophic fall on May 3, was in the Southlake emergency dept. for 48 hours treating numerous broken ribs, a punctured lung, and then developed pneumonia, They were about to move her to palliative care when a room opened at the nearby Margaret Bahen Hospice. They wonderfully kept her totally pain-free for 6 nights, so she passed away very peacefully.
Again, our many thanks.
Bob
