elevated 0w4ty It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved grandfather, father and husband, Shu Keung “S.K.” Chan, on March 19, 2022, peacefully in his home with his family at his side, weeks before what was to be his 91st birthday. Devoted husband of 46 years to Katherine, loving father to Daniel and his wife Jennifer, and Thomas and his wife Gloria, and adoring grandfather to Elizabeth, Hailey and Nathaniel. He was predeceased by his father Yuen Chun, mother Yuet Kam (nee Wong) and brother Shu Tin.
elevated 0w4ty Born April 29, 1931 in Hong Kong, he studied engineering, business and economics at different colleges in Hong Kong, England and China, and was proud to often visit his ancestral homeland of Xinhui of Guangdong, China. He became an executive at the company founded by his father, The Hong Kong Tyre Co., helping to run it for over 35 years. He met the love of his life, Katherine, in 1976, and they were wed just three months later, a marriage and love that would endure up to his passing. Together with his family, he immigrated to Canada in 1986, first landing in Richmond, BC before settling in Mississauga, ON in 1990, where he remained a proud member of the community for the remainder of his life.
elevated 0w4ty He was fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin and English and spoke some Russian and Japanese, and was passionate about world history, philosophy, macroeconomics, financial investing and travelling the world with his family. But nothing brought more joy to him than to spend time with his wife, children and grandchildren, around which his life revolved; it was the simple moments in life that he cherished most. His wisdom, kindness, sense of humour and love will be missed by all who knew him.

A very touching and detailed narration of Mr. Chan Shu Keung’s life. A loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. A wise and knowledgeable man. An always welcome host when we visited their home in Mississauga. We have so much fun and memorable moments that he is now greatly miss by all.

With Love
(Aunt) Mary and family.
Rest In Peace SK. Thank you for being a wonderful husband to my sister, a great father and a loving grandfather, you will be sorely missed. I will forever cherish the time I had known you as my beloved brother-in-law.
Shu Keung Chan was my nice and happy brother-in-law. He was blessed with a beautiful family of three generations. My prayers and thoughts are with him and his family. I am sure he is resting in peace.
SK has been a wonderful brother-in-law to us, being easy going, wise, generous and full of joie de vivre. He was devoted to our sister/sister-in-law Katherine and took very good care of his lovely family. We fondly remember the many interesting conversations with him in our dim sum outings and on our siblings cruise. He will be sorely missed. Rest in peace, SK.
We have lost a kind, generous, witty and intelligent brother-in-law, S.K.. He was a gracious host to our numerous trips to Mississauga. He always greeted us with his cheerful smile and warm embrace at his doorsteps. We miss him tremendously.
S.K. had a full and happy life surrounded by a beautiful family, a loving wife, caring sons and daughters-in-law and adorable grandchildren. His legacy will live on. He will be in our hearts forever.
