elevated igaTd  Obituary

elevated igaTd Silvana De Maria (née Mancini)

elevated igaTd We can only whisper the sad and sorrowful news of the passing of a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother and much more to many… our strength is barely audible.

elevated igaTd Born on January 9, 1944, in Rome, Italy, Silvana carried with her the warmth, elegance, and strength of her Italian roots throughout her life. In 1966, she immigrated to Canada with hope, determination, and a deep commitment to building a better future for her family. She eventually made Bolton, Ontario her home, where she became the heart of her family and a source of comfort and love to all who knew her.

elevated igaTd Silvana was the beloved wife of Domenico De Maria, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and family. She was a devoted and loving mother to her daughter Cinzia and her son Massimo, extending that same love to her son-in-law Dino Pascucci and daughter-in-law Ida Masi De Maria.

elevated igaTd She was a proud and loving Nonna to Marco (Nadine), Roberto (Liana), Lucas, and Matteo, and a cherished great-grandmother to Nicolas, Giuliana, Gabriel, Michael, and Matteo.

elevated igaTd She is lovingly remembered by her siblings Nadia, Alberto, and Anna, and was predeceased by her brother Sergio Mancini. Silvana was the cherished daughter of the late Amerigo Mancini and the late Irma Mancini, and was also lovingly connected to Antonietta Mancini following her father’s remarriage.

elevated igaTd Silvana’s life was defined not by grand recognition, but by the countless quiet acts of love she gave every single day. During her early years in Canada, she worked at La Romana Bakery and Contessa Gifts while raising her family and building a loving home centered around care, sacrifice, and togetherness. Her home was always filled with the aroma of homemade meals and an espresso always ready to go, “con tanti dolci.”

elevated igaTd She loved long walks on the beaches of Siesta Key, Florida and Ostia, Rome, dancing at family gatherings, reading her Italian magazines, and spending hours speaking with her brothers, sisters, and children.

elevated igaTd Above all, Silvana will be remembered for her warm heart, nurturing spirit, positive outlook on life, and her role as the family’s quiet peacekeeper. She often reminded her children, “Volere è potere” — where there is a will, there is a way. Those words became part of the foundation she built for her family and will continue to guide generations to come.

elevated igaTd In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Silvana’s memory to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
