elevated VOohg It is with great sadness that the family of Stefan (Steve) Lavor announces his passing on February 26, 2021, at the age of 79. Beloved husband of Halina for over 50 years. Devoted father of Ed (Lara) and Rick (Amanda). Loving dziadzi to his grandchildren Emma, Maya, Alyssa, Aiden, Austin, and Ashley. He will be sadly missed by his sister-in-law Janina (Witold), brother-in-law Ted (Monique), and their families.

elevated VOohg Steve was born in Hlohovec, Slovak Republic. Arriving in Canada 58 years ago, Steve was a skilled machinist whose talent, determination, and perseverance lead to the establishment of a highly successful and well-respected business, “Lomna Machine Products Limited”, which continues to thrive to this day under the dedicated leadership of his family.
elevated VOohg His kind and gentle manner never waivered. He had a smile for every occasion, and words of encouragement in times of difficulty. We take comfort in these memories as we bid him farewell, for now. Life for him has changed, not ended. We will forever cherish his legacy of love and laughter in our hearts, and whisper his name at every celebration and family event. Rest in peace dear husband, father, dziadzi, friend.

Steve was a great friend to my father from our arrival in Canada until my dad’s death in 2014. My dad valued his friendship and wisdom. As he often said, Štefan inspired him to start his own machine tool repair business back in the 1970s. I recall many visits to the old Lomna shop with my dad where I too would often seek Steve’s advice on various issues. He was like family to us and I’m stunned by this sad news. I will always remember him.
