elevated h1DmB Obituary
It is with sadness that Teresa’s family announces her passing at Southlake Care Village in Newmarket, Ontario, on March 18, 2024, at the age of 89. Teresa is predeceased by her loving husband, Ron, and is the proud and loving mother of Bob (Mary), Ken (Kelly) and Doug. She is the cherished Nana to Jessica (Russ), Gregory, Liam (Dominique), Meghan (Adam) and Madeleine.
elevated h1DmB Teresa was born on September 16, 1934, in the city of Toronto Ontario, the proud daughter of Frank and Katherine, and younger sister to her beloved Lynne, who predeceased her too soon. In 1955 Teresa married the love of her life, Ronald Joseph Bowman, and they built a life together in Scarborough, buying their first and only house in 1958. They raised their family in that house on Cardy Place, providing great memories to their children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and friends alike. Teresa went on to live in that same house for 61 years, providing a solid foundation, and a welcoming gathering place for the family on Birthdays, Christmas celebrations, Thanksgiving and anytime a friend would drop in.
elevated h1DmB Teresa was an avid gardener and spent countless hours tending to her gardens and took pride in the beauty they added to her house. She was also very active in street and community activities, participating in her Euchre Club, Bowling League, her Curves group or just having a coffee with friends and chatting about current events, she loved her coffee and news. She was also very active in community craft shows, marketing her creations both for fundraising and profit. She became a very proficient artist, specializing in folk art painting, and many of her treasures reside on the desks and hang on the walls of family and friends to this day.
elevated h1DmB She will be forever missed but always remembered in our hearts and many memories. Teresa will be forever remembered for her strong personality, values, zest for living, her can-do attitude, and for her love and devotion to her family.
elevated h1DmB We would like to thank the staff at Southlake Care Village, 5th Floor, for the special care they provided for Teresa during her stay, and especially during the last 6 months.
