elevated KaAMX Teresa Manley
elevated KaAMX MANLEY, TERESA, July 31, 1965 – April 5, 2019. Beloved wife of Paul James Manley, devoted mother of James and Katie. Loving sister to Tina (Peter Lucia) and Joe Marro (Rosana), and sister-in-law to David (Laurie Savoie), Frank, and John (Brenda). Cherished daughter-in-law of Peter and Sandra Manley; Dear Zia of Joseph and Andrew Lucia; and Daniela and John Michael Marro. Dear Aunt of Alexander, Nathalie, Mathew, and Elizabeth Manley; and Amy Heighington and Andrew Warner. She also leaves to mourn many zia’s, zio’s, cousins, friends, neighbours, colleagues, and extended family both in Canada and Italy.
elevated KaAMX Taken from us far too soon, Teresa was devoted to her large family, her friends, her neighbours, and current and former colleagues, many of whom she had known for decades. She was passionate about tennis, cycling, photography, her dog Tucker, and had many other interests. Teresa showed her love in many ways, one of the most beautiful being through her cooking which she learned from her mother. Her greatest passion was travel. Over the years she was able to share this love with her family and friends. Everywhere she went, she turned strangers into friends and truly made a difference in the lives of many people.
elevated KaAMX Teresa was also passionate about the work she did in marketing during her 30-year career. Her main goal in work was always to contribute her talents in order to do an excellent job and to help bring any venture she worked on to its highest potential. Most recently she worked for the CNIB. As a testament to her compassionate nature, when Teresa’s mother succumbed to dementia, she innovated a mobile-phone app to aid anyone caring for someone suffering from dementia.
elevated KaAMX Teresa was predeceased by her loving parents Giovanni Marro and Maria Giovanna Marro.
elevated KaAMX The family will receive friends at the Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, 211 Langstaff Road East (west of Bayview Avenue) on Thursday, April 11, 2019 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place within the funeral home in the Chapel of St. Joseph on Friday, April 12, 2019 at 9:15 a.m. The final rite of committal and entombment will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation to the Canadian Association of Mental Health

I have good memories of working with Teresa and the team here at Mirego on her startup project Dementia Advisor. I was impressed how she was able to turn a sad life event into a profound motivation to help caregivers cope with dementia. I enjoyed all the lengthy conversations with her. Teresa was an incredible woman and a truly special person. In my short 10 months of knowing her , Teresa’s passion and intelligence captivated me and I looked forward to spending many years of friendship. I am truly and deeply sorry for her tragic early passing. An incomprehensible loss for her family and the many who had the honour to know her. To the Manley and the Marro Family,
My heart goes out to each and everyone of the family. Teresa was one of my friends growing up on Queens Drive. Those days seem so long ago but running into her always seemed like yesterday. She was a beautiful soul inside and out. My family’s thoughts and prayers to you all. Heaven has gained an angel and a Guardian Angel to watch out over you. RIP Teresa.

I was really lucky to have had Teresa as my friend and I will miss her very much. She was vivacious and funny, a wonderful cook and the best person to ask for advice on travelling just about anywhere, not to mention the most competitive but fun player on the tennis court.
I am heartbroken to lose her, grateful to have known her.
My prayers to you Paul, Katie, and James. God bless, Teresa.
Teresa was like a sister to me. We met at University and had been friends ever since. She attracted me instantly with her bright, warm smile and wit. She was a beautiful and intelligent person always trying her best to do something meaningful with her life. She was always there for me in good times and bad. I will miss her so much!! My heart goes out to you Paul, James, Katie, Tina, Joe and Peter and the rest of your family. You were everything to her.
Words, however kind, can’t mend your heartache, but those who care for you share your grief and wish you comfort and peace of mind. My condolences.
To Tina, Rosana and the Marro family,
My heart goes out to you and your family…
Our thoughts and prayers will always be with you and Teresa’s family. May she rest in eternal peace…

To Tina and the Marro family,
May care and love of those around you provide comfort and peace to get you through the days ahead. My most sincere condolences.
So sorry to hear of this very sad news. Teresa worked for me at Softimage as the director of marketing. I have great memories of her passion for her work and her ability to make everyone around her better. She was a great colleague and friend.
-Marc
I am still not fully able to comprehend the loss of our friend and colleague Teresa Manley. Teresa helped me and our colleague, Leo immigrate to Canada to work at Softimage in Montreal. She had an energy and passion for life, work, family, travel, cooking and so many other things I can not begin to list. Teresa was always honest and direct with everyone she met, and had no fear in taking on tasks. Even after we were no longer working colleagues, she stayed in touch with us, and was always intersted and proud of what we were doing in our professional and private lives. At a difficult point in my career, she gave me a wonderful endorsement and encouragement to do what was scary–but right–for my career and happiness. I send my sincere condolences and compassion to Teresa’s family and friends in this time of great sorrow. I know, as Teresa transitions her energies to the universe, she takes all of our love with her. Rest in Peace—dear Teresa. You were a great mentor, boss, counselor, and friend.
Dear Paul, James, and Katie
I learned yesterday morning of Teresa’s passing and she and you — sweet Tucker, too — have been in my thoughts ever since. I am profoundly sorry for your loss.
I feel so fortunate to have spent time with Teresa. The words generous, warm, loving, creative, intelligent, sparkling, welcoming and down-to-earth all spring to mind. She was lovely on the inside and on the outside.
I so admire that she created the Dementia Advisor App. I’m sure the number of times the app has been downloaded pales in comparison to the number of people who have and will benefit from it. If nothing else, that the caregivers who access it will be reminded that they’re not alone is a terrific gift.
I think it’s true that sparks of those we love deeply remain even after we can’t reach out and grab them, much as we want to. The love and experiences shared, and the connection forged doesn’t budge. The fact that it’s invisible to those we pass in traffic or the guy behind us in line doesn’t make it any less real. Don’t be sheepish about honouring that, or whatever it is that is true for you.
There are two candles casting light at a pretty church in Westmount. The first is for Teresa and the other is for you and all those who miss her.
I am sending thoughts of peace and comfort from Montreal. I’m so sad this has happened.
Please be gentle with yourself. So many people care. Let them do kind things for you.
Pam
I am shocked.
Teresa interviewed me for my first job out of Humber College for my time at Autodesk. I left after a few months but she left an indelible impression on me. I was just searching Linkedin for her but unable to find anything I was a bit surprised because she was a connection of mine, and a woman of her energy and power would definitely have a profile. I then just did a google search and came across this shockingly sad news. My deepest condolences to her family. She was a young and vigorously active woman and an amazing manager.
