It is with sadness and much love that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, dad, and Ye-ye, Thomas Chung, on Tuesday Feb 3, 2026 at the age of 81. Beloved wife of Catherine Chung of 55 years, loving father to Bryan and Andrew, Daughter-in-law Charmaine, and cherished Ye-ye of Preston and Peyton. Thomas is also survived by his siblings; Philomena, John, Renfrew and Francis. Dad was the heart of our family, energetic, devoted, and deeply loving. He cherished his role as husband, father, and grandfather, and his love for his grandchildren brought him immense joy. His commitment to family was unwavering, and his presence will be profoundly missed. In memory of Thomas, donations may be made to North York General Hospital and Toronto General Hospital though flowers are also welcome. We are grateful for your love and support during this difficult time.

Dearest Auntie Cathy, Bryan, and Andrew,
So saddened to hear the news. I will always remember Uncle Thomas’ laugh and funny jokes. I remember fondly going to his house for swimming parties and holiday gatherings – he was such a gracious host. I loved bumping into him strolling through Promenade Mall and I was usually with my kids and he would take the time to chat with all of us. What I’ll remember most is his kindness – he was so kind to me, my Ex Bryan, and my children. I will miss my Godfather very much. May your family feel comforted by those that surround you all today and always.
Mr. Chung,
I am deeply saddened to hear of your passing.
Although it’s been decades since we last saw each other, I have always carried fond memories of your warmth, your practical perspectives, and your penchant for mischief that you were very good at disguising–most of the time!
I still very much appreciate your hospitality and generosity. Upon reflection, I am grateful that we met; you’ve given me happy memories to cherish.
You are loved and missed.
Dear Andrew: Please accept our sincere condolences. Your dad is in a better place now. Gladys and Stan
