Ingrid and I are so heartbroken- We will miss one of our closest friends. Our deepest sympathies go out to Sandy, his kids and grand kids whom he was so proud of. I will miss his sense of humor, common sense and principles. He was like an older brother to me and the only slower runner than I when we played baseball over the years. May he rest in peace.
A wonderful man to have worked with for many years at P&G. Always willing to help and provide sound advice. I will always remember his gentle attitude and smile! Rest in peace Tom
Tom was such a graceful and kind leader. As a new recruit in 1988 he left a lasting impression on me that set a path for many more years. A life well lived. May he rest in peace.
Dear Sandy and family – so sad to learn of Tom’s passing. He was an admired leader of so many at P&G and and a just a down-to-earth decent person at the same time.
Sandy so sorry to learn of the passing of Tom.
I have fond memories of happy times spent over the years with Robert & me & you & Tom.
My thoughts are with you & the children at this very sad time.
Fondly,
Sally
We are so saddened to hear of Tom’s passing. Tom hired me in 1969 and was instrumental in all my various career moves. He was a kind and thoughtful mentor and a true gentleman.
Our sincere condolences to you, Sandy, and all the family.

Tom was a role model for many generations of developing managers in P&G. His integrity, charity, innovative spirit and kindness guided all his business endeavours. Throughout my years at P&G Toronto I looked up to him and sought his advice often. My sincerest condolences to his wife and family.

We always enjoyed the time we got to spend with Tom & Sandy. It was clear they adored their grandson, AJ and his wife, (our daughter) Sarah. The feeling was mutual. RIP Tom & our most sincere condolences to Sandy & the rest of the family. Tony & Bonnie
I was saddened to hear of Tom’s passing. He was a mentor, a steady guide and someone whose influence shaped so many of us. I will always remember that he first took a chance on me by hiring me back in 1989. His integrity and quiet wisdom left a lasting impact on so many who were fortunate enough to know him. Please accept my sincere condolences. Tom will be missed, but never forgotten.
Tom was the perfect gentleman! He was genuinely kind, concerned about people and perfectly mannered. He was also a great manager, contributing throughout his long career, first in IT and then in Public and Government Relations. He led the company through the early days of IT. He was perfect for Public and Government Relations, for which he seemed to be born to do. He strengthened our relationships with the consumer, the trade and most importantly with the governments. He was extremely supportive of me when I took over the Canadian Company and for that I am eternally indebted to him. I shall miss him as a friend. Liz and I extend our deepest condolences to Sandy and the family. Please find solace in being the family of one of the best guys that ever walked the face of this earth.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time. Cherish all the memories. We wish we could be with you.
Tom was a valued friend. He was an early mentor at Procter and Gamble and then a much appreciated source of sound advice. I will also treasure memories of days on the baseball diamond and on the golf course. He was always kind and considerate and it was a privilege to have known such a fine person.
It is with a heavy heart that I write this note, as words cannot fully capture the deep sorrow I feel. Tom was the first IT manager I met at P&G and the main reason I ended up joining the department.
He was kind and thoughtful and touched my life in ways I never imagined possible. My sincere condolences to all the family.
I was saddened to hear of Tom’s passing . I believe I first meet Tom at RV when we became part of P&G, then after I was hired at P&G in the AV Dept. Drove him down to the Hamilton site to shoot a video. Was always with a smile and positive, always a pleasure to interact with.
My sincere condolences to all the Family!
TOM GOVE
I was one of the first persons Tom hired into P&G, and he was my first manager. Tom was a great manager and an even better friend. During my earliest years at P&G he worked hard to build a strong and cohesive team in the IT Department and he succeeded. We reduced headcount by 50%. Departmental parties were essential and part of the plan. These included lots of music and wine tasting. Tom liked to refer to the yellow-green wine which I had attempted to produce for the party as “Zambezi River water.” guess it was OK as everyone showed up for work the next day.
Tom was kind and laid back. He trusted others and readily obtained their support for his plans. Just several months after I joined P&G, Tom loaned me the use of his house and pool (even our dog Brambles) while he, Sandy and the kids went on vacation. Needless to say, Brambles and the kids got along well ,and subsequently, Brambles was invited to become a regular member of the Gove swim team.
As my mentor, Tom helped me to assess my strengths and areas in which I needed to improve. We worked together to create a plan for me, the essence of which, guided me throughout my career at P&G. No matter where I was located (Toronto, Belleville, Hamilton, Cincinnati, Geneva), I knew that Tom’s advice and guidance would always be available to me.
Overall, I consider myself extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with and to know Tom Gove. He said if you are patient, flexible, willing to listen, and clear about your goals, you’ll be successful. How about that for good advice!
Judy and I extend our sincere condolences to Sandy and the entire family.

I am so saddened to hear of your loss. Tom was one of the kindest souls I have come across. I hold him in high regard for his integrity and he was a joy to work for as an executive secretary. Thinking of you with compassion.
