Your mother Valeria has such a beautiful smile…we can see what a lovely human being she was …we really wished we had..had a chance to meet her…what a force we can see she was in your lives….may her spirit in your lives continue to bless and guide you….love to all in the Cardinelli family.
Our most sincere condolences to the family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We didn’t have the pleasure to meet Noni in person, but I’m sure we would have loved her, just as you all did.
Her legacy will remain for generations.
With love,
Carlos & Vivi
At a time like this family should stick together as close as can be. For 97 years you had a great mother and grandmother. May god take that into consideration and open the gates for her so she may be with her husband for eternity. Our sincerest condolences.

Our condolences to the entire family. She was a beautiful, sweet and kind lady who we made great memories with when Olivia and I were younger. May she rest in peace 🙏.
My condolences to the Cardinali Family.

My Zia Valeria will live forever in my heart and in my mind. Zia was more than just my aunt; she was my nursing mother. Zia had just given birth to Gabriele a few months after I was born. My mother Rita was not able to provide enough breast milk and Zia Valeria offered to nurse me as well as Gabriele because, after all, we are family, and for Zia the most important thing in the world is family and love.
Zia Valeria, Zio Enrico and cousin Gabriele left for Canada and a couple of years later our family followed as well. Peter their second son was born shortly after we arrived. Our two families reunited and farmed in Bradford Ontario for a few years. It was not an easy life for the parents. We kids did not see the struggles they endured to provide for us, as farming was not as financial rewarding, as they had hoped. Eunisia, Gabriele, Peter and myself lived in a household overflowing with affection, compassion, and a concern for each other with love, laughter, lots of food, and Italian music. Then, they decided to move to the big city, Toronto. My dad Bil (Gugliemo) and Zio Enrico both worked two jobs while our moms Rita and Zia Valeria would alternate working outside the home each year. Zia Valeria, ended up staying at home to care for us before and after school most of the years because she had Peter the youngest still at home. Zia loved to cook and she really liked to bake cookies and cakes. Zia was always very creative with her cooking, although never measuring and so, we could never get the recipes just right, if we tried to duplicate them.
Regularly she insisted on giving us each a raw egg to drink every morning, which we all hated and complained about. We would often spit it out or purposely drop the egg on the floor and Zia would always say to us “Ma why, Ma why, you do dat” in her broken English. I can remember every time we would misbehave (which was often) she always confronted us with that question. Zia later tried to enhance the eggs by beating them with sugar and adding some coffee to make it more appealing for us to drink. That worked.
Zia’s other passion was knitting and crocheting. If she was not busy running after us or cooking, cleaning or visiting one of our sick relatives in the hospital, she would be knitting. She knitted us all several pairs of slippers every year along with scarfs and mitts and gloves.
By the time I was eight years old, our two families flourished and we were finally able to afford to take up residency on our own, yet remain close. The ties that have lasted a life time stayed intact as we each went our separate ways but kept within arm’s reach. For decades we lived our lives apart facing many challenges but always supportive. Both families have so much to be proud of and be thankful for, including the blessings we have experienced and the fortitude to manage the difficulties we faced during the sad times and the not-so-good times. We are here today because we survived and my Aunt Valeria is one of the reasons. I love her deeply and will always be grateful for having her in my life. She will always be remembered and will always be associated with the joy and laughter she brought to our families. From her views on life and her sayings like “dats so nice “ “Ma, what are you going to do?” to “Ma, why you do dat?”, our Matriarch has ascended to a better place but, I am sure is still looking down over all of us trying to make things better for everyone. May she rest in peace, without pain, as she so deserves. She was and will always be a special person we can’t help but admire.
my sincerest condolences to the entire family. i will always remember Valeria my neighbour i still remember many moments with Valeria when i was a kid. Valeria treated us as extended family. we were blessed to know her she was always loving and kind.
