elevated 7bzI6 Obituary

elevated 7bzI6 It is with a saddened heart we share the news that Vincent (Vince) D’Souza, age 87, passed away peacefully at his home on August 11, 2022, with his family at his side. He is survived and will be dearly missed by his beloved wife, Philomena (Pinto), loving daughter, Venetia, and caring son and daughter-in-law , Adrian (Francesca). The love and admiration for him was shared amongst his brothers, Anthony (Bridget), Louis (Barbara predeceased), Victor (Theresa), Peter (predeceased); his late sister Rose Rosario (Januario predeceased), and the many caring in-laws, nieces & nephews, cousins and dear friends with whom his life touched. He is predeceased by his parents Sebastian and Assumption, as well as his second mom Claudine.

elevated 7bzI6 Born in Karachi, Pakistan, Vincent always had a zest for living life, at any age. He would share his many stories of adventures, one being starting a new life in Canada on his own to create a better one for his family and the many that followed. He revered knowledge & continually sought opportunities to further his growth. It brought him great pride in having his engineering degree and the stellar career that followed. His lifelong passion and talent was music – it truly was his second love. Taking vocal lessons from Ian Garrett (Shania Twain vocal coach), obtaining his certificate at the Royal Conservatory of Music and being a active member of the Songwriters Association of Canada helped him perfect his natural talent for singing , playing the guitar and songwriting.  He loved the process of songwriting and often wrote original love songs for his first love, his wife, Philomena. He was not done – he was just getting started.

elevated 7bzI6 The simple things brought him joy in his daily life – aside from music, focusing on his daily mantra  and exercises to stay strong in health.  And above all and core to his happiness was spending time with his family especially his “beautiful” Philomena who meant the world to him. His devotion to her and his two children was beyond measure and will be treasured forever.  We were lucky to have him as ours.

elevated 7bzI6 Vince always leaned on courage, love and faith to lead his way.  He shared the following words of positivity while in the hospital (he sang as well). A wise man that will be sorely missed.

elevated 7bzI6 “Why should I worry just cause I am in a hurry – no take one day at a time. And if in spite of all that, something happens to me, I’ll just die with a smile. Because just like you can’t control when you’re born, you can’t control when you are dying. These are things in God’s teachings.”

elevated 7bzI6 Now he is singing in Heaven’s Choir.

elevated 7bzI6 In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to musicounts.ca  and  heartandstroke.ca
