elevated LY1Tn September 13, 1951-April 14, 2019

elevated LY1Tn Jim was born in Casteltermini, Sicily, and immigrated to Canada in 1954. He was kind, hard working and fiercely devoted to his family.

elevated LY1Tn Jim passed suddenly while onboard the Island Princess cruise ship doing what he loved most with his beloved wife, Janet. Jim was an incredibly caring and devoted father to Carmelo (Julie), Kristen (Giancarlo Trimarchi) and Frank James (Daniela Caprara). He was the kindest Grandpa/Papa to his four granddaughters, Laura, Ella, Maya and Lia. His faithful furry companion, Stella, was always by his side.

elevated LY1Tn Jim was predeceased by his father, Carmelo. He was a loving son to his mother, Serafina, and will be missed by his three brothers, Anthony (Diane), John (Sandra), Frank (Dee), and their families. Jim was a cherished son-in-law to Antonina and Francesco Zambito, and treasured brother-in-law to Nina (Antonino Todaro) and Josie (Frank Blandino). He will be remembered with love by his nieces, nephews and cousins.

elevated LY1Tn Starting at 10 years old, Jim worked alongside his family at multiple locations of Ferlisi Brothers, a well-known, independent grocery chain for 37 years. Later, he pursued one of his passions, a love of cars, and served family, friends and customers for another 20 years starting at Tomlinson Pontiac Buick GMC and finishing at NewRoads Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC.

elevated LY1Tn Family and friends will be received at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery & Funeral Home, 8361 Yonge Street in Thornhill. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or Canadian Diabetes Association are greatly appreciated.
