elevated WW5qr It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vittorino Soncin on December 26, 2021 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of over 61 years to Lamberta. Loving father to Dennes (Melissa), and Paolo (Marilyn). Dear grandfather to Stephen (Riley), Michael (Chanelle), Jessica (Ivan), and Erin; great-granddaughters Kyleigh and Cadence. Dear brother to Miranda, Antonio (Luci) and Margaret.

He is respected not only as one of the original builders of the civil infrastructure of the City of Toronto, but as a husband, father, brother and friend.

My brother Vic had a remarkable life. From humble beginnings in wartime Italy to the highly accomplished and respected leader he became. Yet, no matter how lofty his achievements, he never lost that characteristic humility, sense of pure joy and love of family. I will miss his generous heart and easy smile.
Go to your rest, brother, knowing that the many lives you have touched will keep your memory alive. Be at peace.
May God fill your hearts with His peace in this very sad time. He is going to be missed by many. So sorry for your loss.

On behalf of the Heavy Construction Association I want to express our deepest sympathy to the Soncin family. Vic was one of our bedrock members, giving of both his experience and humour. He was a champion of the apprentice programs, always making time for new Canadians and acting as a stellar example of where hard work could take you in his new country of Canada. His efforts will live on through both the young people he mentored and the scholarship in his name at George Brown. He welcomed all to our calling and always had a joke or humorous story at the ready. His number one pride though was in his family and his life partner Berta. He will be missed.
Thank you Peter. Well said. Your kind words are always greatly appreciated.
My deepest condolences to the whole family.
