elevated eE9z5 It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William David Fraresso on May 29, 2021. At the age of 73, Bill died of COVID-19 in Costa Rica. He is remembered as the beloved son of the late Van and Faye Fraresso; cherished brother to Mary Anne, Donald, Carol, Diane, Catherine, Ronald, and the late Thomas and Robert; dear uncle to Rachel, Jennifer, Shelley, William, James, and the late Alexander. Bill was a professional engineer with a Eng. Sc. Degree from University of Toronto. He spent much of his career living and working in Calgary, as well as travelling and working around the world. Bill was an entrepreneur and co-founder of an oil and gas enterprise and drilling company, an inventor who held a patent for a new technology using high-speed particles for surface cleaning, and a pioneer in the early development of the ‘smart home’ concept for which he shared a Most Innovative New Technology Award. He was a skilled athlete and enjoyed playing polo and competing in cattle penning and triathlon events. Bill was very generous and devoted to his family, sending his parents and sister to Friuli, Italy to visit their ancestral homes and relatives. He took pride in his heritage, and also traveled and toured both Italy and Argentina to meet extended family.

In recent years, he spent much of his time in what he considered his personal version of paradise – enjoying and exploring the many natural wonders of Central America and photographing the exotic wildlife.

Bill led a life rich in travel and adventure, and those who knew him were inspired by his generosity, his leadership, his good humour and optimism about life, and his openness to new opportunities and experiences.
