elevated eMwHC The Morris family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of William James Morris, a much-loved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He passed away May 25, 2021, in Toronto, at the age of 96. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara (nee Molloy) and grandson Ryan. He will remain in the hearts of his children ; Sheila, Noel (Laurie), Valentine (Betty), Diane (Andrew), John (Nancy), Barbara (Ken), and Geraldine (Ian). Treasured grandfather to Jordan, Matthew, Kasey (Kevin), Liam, Noah, Emma, Jonah, Kyle, Daniel, Kayleigh and great-grandfather to Carter and Avery. Fondly remembered by relatives and friends in Ireland, England, and the US.
elevated eMwHC Dad was born in Erritt, County Roscommon, Ireland in 1925. Although they knew no-one, Mum and Dad emigrated to Canada in 1957 with a toddler and an infant. Dad found employment with the City of Toronto (retired after 30 years), and through perseverance and hard work built a happy family life in Toronto with their seven children. Later, there was always room for everyone at their cottage in Orillia and then Lake Nosbonsing. Nothing made Dad happier than to hear the chatter and laughter of his family, “the gang” as he called us. Dad valued family above all, handled all that seven kids could throw at him with humour and said the door is always open. Dad was a “jack of all trades” who encouraged people to tackle projects they did not think they could do. He had a soft spot for animals, was a master at making a garden grow and of course nurturing his beloved trees.
elevated eMwHC He will be enormously missed and forever remembered.
My deepest condolences to the Morris “Gang”
Dad, Grandpa was an incredible Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather.
Family was everything to him. He was so happy when family was around and then some! I need to say Thank You!!!
Unconditionally.
I enjoyed our chit chats even though for many years I could not understand his Irish accent! I use to nod and smile a lot. And afterwards would have to ask a family member “what did he say”
After many years I had confessed to him.
We both laughed and was our little joke.
I will always cherish our chats and hold great respect for him. I will miss him dearly.
Heaven is so happy for his arrival!
