elevated Y4bnZ It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father William (Bill) Harvey Seeley, on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at the ripe old age of 93. Beloved husband of 64 years to Gloria, loving father to Anthony, Suzanne, Elizabeth, Richard (Chapel) and Catherine (David) and very proud Papa to Jonah, Caleb, Cameron, Bodin, Kade and Tre.
elevated Y4bnZ Dad was a generous and passionate family man who took great interest in the details of the lives of the people around him. He was a committed community volunteer and he lit up a room wherever he went.
elevated Y4bnZ Dad could tell a joke like no other and his mind was sharp right up to the end. Many years ago, he decided that he would no longer buy green bananas and recently he said that he was well past his “Best Before Date.” He saw humour in all of life and he will be remembered for his big laugh.

Back in the late 60’s, I babysat a few times for Bill & Gloria (Cathie was even cuter than she is today!). This was before we Ford’s lived just up Kirk Dr. from the Seeley’s, and one night Bill kindly gave me a lift home. After a night out, Bill was a bit “in his cups” as they used to say, certainly not too much for the driving standards of the day, but enough to be feeling the joy of life.
As we pulled into our driveway, Bill said, “John, wait, you have to listen to this!” On the radio was Peggy Lee singing “Is That All There Is?”.
Looking back now, the line that jumps out to me is “Oh, no, not me, I’m in no hurry for that final disappointment.”
But the part that Bill was so entranced by, and which endured in my memory as the spirit of Bill, was:
“Is that all there is, is that all there is?
If that’s all there is my friends, then let’s keep dancing
Let’s break out the booze and have a ball
If that’s all . . .
there . . .
is.”
Goodbye Bill. Say hi to Dad for me.
