elevated 8O8uF (August 23, 1951 – January 11, 2021)
elevated 8O8uF It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Wing Yee Flavia Wong in her 69th year. Beloved wife of Manchiu for 40 wonderful years, loving mother to William, dear sister to Hing Po and Hing Keung, Flavia will also be sadly missed by her fellow parishioners at Sts. Martha and Mary Church and the Catholic Cursillo community.
elevated 8O8uF Born in Hong Kong, China, Flavia grew up to be a well-adjusted young girl in a loving family. Formed and baptized a Catholic as a teen in a school ran by the Canossian Sisters, she had always been a smart student in an intensely competitive education environment. Studies always seemed effortless for her. She taught briefly after graduation from the University of Hong Kong, before furthering her studies and completing her two Masters at the University of Toronto. Yet, Flavia’s focus in life had always been on family. Her marriage to Manchiu, her God given soulmate, was from the beginning built on the ideal of “the-two-becoming-one”. One strand at a time, they weaved together a shared life of 40 years, ever enriching, reaching its apex at her last breath. Indeed, Flavia’s life is crowned not so much by what she did but by being who she was – a wife and a mom, naturally centered in Love.
elevated 8O8uF Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be a private family funeral service at Sts. Martha and Mary Parish in Mississauga on Saturday, January 16. An entombment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the Wong Family requests that you consider making a donation to St Francis Table, (Parkdale) Toronto in Flavia’s memory.

Alex & Grace
We are very sad to hear our beloved cousin passed away. She is remembered a gentle peaceful scholar. May peace be with her ever after. Our condolences to her family and all of us
You will always be in my heart, dear Flavia. Whenever I walk pass HKU, Belcher Gardens, L’hotel, … your smiling face appears in my mind.
Flavia, as classmate dated back to our time in HKU, it is shocking and sad to know that you left us so suddenly. May you rest in peace in the arms of our Lord. Will miss you….
My deepest condolences to the family.
Dear Manchiu. I am so deeply saddened to hear of sweet Flavia’s sudden passing. I’ve no doubt that she finds her sweet soul finds her in Christ’s precious embrace. In your great pain, I pray that the immeasurable loving memories of her, that you and her loved ones have been touched by, may bring comfort, joy, and eventual healing to all. Her love for you all is now more powerful than ever.
The last time I met Flavia was in 2014 in France during our 40th HKU Bio reunion. Although it was the first time we have met since our graduation in 1974, she was exactly the same Flavia I remembered – always caring and kind. May she rest In peace in the arms of the Lord.
