elevated 6k5Lm Peacefully passed away on June 14, 2020 at the age of 89 in Toronto.  Beloved wife of the late John Yang.  Caring and devoted mother to Joseph (Johanna), Cathy (Albert) and Gordon (Susan).  Proud grandmother to Christopher, Jennifer (Frederick), Keegan, Lukas, Tanise and great-grandmother to Zachary, Evelynn and Isabella.  Loving sister to Irving (Joyce) and Stephen (Ching).

elevated 6k5Lm Connie was born in Shanghai, China on November 3, 1930.  She went to Hong Kong with her parents and brothers during the late 1940’s.  She graduated from the St. Mary Catholic Girl’s School in Hong Kong.  Connie and her family came to Canada in 1967.  While in Canada, Connie worked in Accounting Departments at various hospitals in Toronto.  In the 1980’s, Connie and her husband John moved to Los Angeles.  While in L.A., she worked in Student Services at UCLA.  She was well liked and respected by her colleagues.  A decade later, Connie and John returned back to Toronto.  After her husband passing, Connie moved to her beloved apartment in the OWN (Older Women Network) Housing Co-Op, at the St. Lawrence Market neighbourhood in Toronto.  Connie became heavily involved with her community to the betterment of the residents there.  She championed the older women’s rights, wellbeing and statues in society.  Connie had worked tirelessly to lead the Canada Day Committee to celebrate and promote what is great to be Canadian.

elevated 6k5Lm Connie was recognized by The Governor General of Canada as the honoured recipient with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Awards.  Her family was very proud of her achievement.
