elevated Sqp03 Amelia Mothello, a kind-hearted and devout Catholic, passed away peacefully on April 28th, 2023, at the age of 87. She was born on May 5th, 1935, in Zimbabwe, to Joao and Bertha De Almeida. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry Mothello, and her siblings, Innocent De Almeida, Domingo De Almeida, John De Almeida, Rosina Rensburg, Georgina Morta, and Maria De Almeida.
elevated Sqp03 Amelia was a loving mother to her children, Ann Blazius, Eric Mothello, and Bruno Mothello. She was also grandmother to Bertha Werrett and great-grandmother to Tyla and Marley Werrett.
elevated Sqp03 Amelia found comfort and strength in prayer and the Rosary, and her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She was a devoted member of the church and loved creating flower arrangements in Braeside church. Her generous spirit and kind heart touched the lives of everyone she met, and she never hesitated to help those in need.
elevated Sqp03 In addition to her faith, Amelia had many interests. She loved playing Bingo, traveling, and baking, but her true passion was gardening and growing her beloved orchids. She was also a skilled seamstress and made handmade clothing for many, as well as beautiful wedding cakes.
elevated Sqp03 Amelia’s love for her family was boundless, and she never asked for anything in return. Her faith and love for God kept her strong through life’s challenges, and her faith guided her through her final days.
elevated Sqp03 Ameliaās passing has left a void in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on through the love she shared with those around her. May she rest in peace, knowing that she is in the loving arms of the Lord and her beloved family up in heaven.

Mimi was looking after me before I was even born. My pregnant teen mother said she would go to Mimiās house because it was a safe refuge. Mimi continued to look after me my whole life. I like to think I was special but the truth is she did that for so many and she was the special one. Mimi showed everyone an abundance of love and kindness. Poor Aunty Mealie š¢ She was my godmother. I remember the many times she spent in Shurugwi with us growing up. I can still see them sitting in the lounge together- Aunty Gorgie, Granny Mary, Aunty June and mum (Rosina). There was always arguing, laughter and good food around these great ladies. Most importantly was their love for God, each other and all the multitudes of lives they touched. Rest assured God has taken his daughter home. She ran a good race in the faith and in her life. A blessing to all of us. Will miss her forever.

You were one of the most wonderful people ever to walk this planet. The love you gave was boundless. I will remember every single meeting with you for the rest of my life. I felt so loved in your presence as a child and as an adult.
Yvonne fortunately met you several times. You made her feel the same way you made me feel.
Unfortunately, our children only met you once, but you won their hearts immediately with your warmth and love. Both Annalena and Louisa carry the rosary you gave them until this day.

Bruno, Bobby, Ann, Brian, Eric , Bertha , Johnathon and the Grandchildren, we are so sorry to hear of the passing away of my sweet beautiful Aunty Amelia, I am so heart sore and shocked. You were just like a Mother to me, you Taught Ann and myself how to make koeksisters, rooties, samosas and we used to watch you make the wedding and celebration cakes. I remember you taking my measurements to make some clothes for me and they were beautiful dressers. You used to go everywhere with Ann and myself to bingo, town and even to your work place at the Lawyers you took me as your own child . I remember you looking after Syreeta and Afton on weekends and Ingrid used to pick all of us up on a Saturday to go to town. You were a gentle humble lady and loved the Lord with all your heart and you loved doing all flowers at the church and Ann and myself used to go with you on a Saturday, you loved everyone and were so good with showing me how to take care of my daughter Mekayla from when she was born you used to come and Bath her and massage her with Olive oil and and you also taught me about the benefits of Rooibos tea,, All the Rensburg boys loved you so much and always came to visit you, your home was always open for people to come and have a meal and a cup of tea, I will always cherish all the memories that I had from my childhood days, I could tell you anything and you were always there to listern and give Ann and myself advise. Aunty Amelia am going to miss you so much, may your sweet soul rest in peace until we meet again, to all the family take comfort in knowing that Aunty Amelia has finished the race well and she is in a better place gone to be with the Jesus We pray for all the family to be strengthened and comforted at this sad time. Ma (Mimi) There are moments & conversations I will look back at that will always make me smile: you joining us in Florida, & you walking around universal studio the WHOLE DAY with your walker, with the then 3 year old Marley sitting on it when he got tired or even slept while you pushed him. Going to Tyla & Marleyās sports days, sitting in the sun & how happy you were just spending time with them.
How you would always phone to check up on us in England, & the first words out your mouth were āhowās my babyā? I would reply āIām good Maā but was under no illusion coz you were asking about Tyla (first). Then Marley came along and we all had to move 1 position down because he took a bigger space in your heart. Then little Rio came along and I would always hear you laughing about what new words he learnt, the main one being āburgerā. I think after 87 years you could be considered one of the matriarchs of this huge family of ours. Growing up I realised that you were the constant. Not just for me but so many of my aunts, uncles & cousins that you helped raise. There was always the best food at Sandhurst Way (I dare anyone in the family to argue with that). Ann & I would stay up late when you were sewing, baking or cooking hoping for a sample.
Once at golf in Shurugwi you asked me to hold your ticket for the raffle. & lo and behold you won: so I am also hoping that because I am the only one in the family with the first name Bertha, that your luck gets passed onto me automatically (itās only right).
My heart is absolutely shattered š I have not lived 1 day without you in my life. I will not hear your voice again or you reminding me to say the Rosary. Ma, you were unique and Iām grateful so many of us got to have you in our lives. I strive to live such a fulfilled life. You were selfless and always doing more for others than you did for yourself. You are the epitome of āHow you measure a successful lifeā. By the lives you touch & change just by being yourself. I am comforted knowing you are now with your brothers and sisters.
