elevated uBGtl Passed at home on Saturday, August 28 at the age of 81.
elevated uBGtl Daughter and eldest child of the late Rosina and Antonio Bruno, admired sister to Gennaro (late Franca), Luigi (Claire), Mary (Carmelo). Sister in law to late Ercole (Maria), Rose (late Leonardo), late Esterina, Mario.
elevated uBGtl Cherished and indispensable wife of 62 years to Francesco (Frank) Mauro and lovingly selfless mother to Lina (Emilio), Tony (Carolyn), Rosemary (Doug). Devoted grandmother to Michael (Andrea), Daniel (Breeda), Matthew, Christopher (Natalie), Brandy (Julian), Robert (Elizabeth), Rachael (Nathan), Nicholas, and Kate. Treasured great grandmother to Mikaela, Marcus, Michael, Juliet, Everleigh, Melina and Adelynn.
elevated uBGtl Always placing the needs of others above her own, Aurora lived for her family and nourished them well. Her garden always provided a bounty and she was ready to feed one and all with pasta, soup, chocolate chip cake or lemon cookies. Her strength, devotion and love feed us much more than her food.
elevated uBGtl Aurora was the very meaning of matriarch, she held her immediate and extended family together. She was our knowledge keeper, our provider, the rock of our lives.
elevated uBGtl We are grateful for the time we had with this very special woman. There are none like her. Aurora leaves a hole in our lives but will forever be in our hearts.
elevated uBGtl The family will receive visitors on Wednesday September 1, 2021 at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, 211 Langstaff Road East, Thornhill, (west of Bayview Ave). from 3 to 5 pm and 6 to 8 pm.
elevated uBGtl A private family Mass will be held at the Chapel of St. Joseph on Thursday September 2, 2021 at 12:00pm.

Words cannot adequately express how saddened we are to hear of the passing of Aurora. She is fondly remembered for her loving smile, warmth and generosity to everyone she came in contact with, making everyone feel special and welcomed, especially through her uncanny memory of a birthday, anniversary or some other special event in our lives. The times we spent together in Florida hold a special place in our hearts, from the meals to the shopping expeditions we shared together. She was our GPS, never needing a map to where we needed to go.
There is no one like Aurora–her kindness and genuine care for humanity stands out like no other, especially when it came to her family. It was clear from the look in her eyes how much she cherished and was proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her loss will undoubtedly be felt by everyone who was fortunate enough to know and love her but it will be the beautiful memories we have of her that will continue to keep her spirit in our hearts.

The death of my dear friend and beloved Aurora has left a huge hole in my heart. She was the most caring and thoughtful person who was always there to lend a helping hand. The fondest memories I have of the times we shared together from the moment I came to Canada to marry her cousin will be cherished forever. She welcomed me with open arms from Day 1 and we became the best of friends. I will miss her dearly but have some comfort in knowing that she is in peace and will be reunited with her loved ones who passed before her.

She was truly one of a kind. As everyone mentioned, her selfless ways of always doing and providing for her family and friends and anyone else she met, took precedence over her own needs and wants, one of her many outstanding traits.
The relationship and love she had with my mother Adriana (her cousin), we more like sisters to one another. Although distance seperated them they had a very close and loving relationship, which we will always cherish.
Her uncanny way of being able to remember dates of everyone’s Birthday, Anniversary, special occasions or events was unremarkable! Truly a special gift she had, and she was truly a special gift to all of us who were lucky enough to know this remarkable woman.
“Aurora” ….When we look up in the sky, we will know that the brightest star shinning will be you shinning down on all of us!
