In Loving Memory of Donald George Allan
elevated hMBn6 With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Donald George Allan.
elevated hMBn6 Don was predeceased by his beloved son Mark Allan and grandson Jacob Allan. He will be deeply missed by his former wife, June Allan and his daughter, Jennifer Allan, his son, Todd Allan (Tracey), and his cherished grandchildren, Mikaela, Andrea, Emma, Jessica, Melissa and Jason.
elevated hMBn6 Don was born in Windsor, Ontario, on August 3rd, 1935. Don moved to Barrie in 1953 with a family that owned DeVilbiss, where he first worked. He later opened his own business, The Credit Union. After that, he had a successful 40-year career as a real estate agent and became a well-known member of the community. Serving as an alderman and a member of the officers’ club.
elevated hMBn6 Don was a gentle, soft-spoken man, known for his kind heart and warm smile. He had a special connection with animals—once even keeping a pet raccoon—and his quick wit often took us by surprise, even in his final days. He faced life with grace, leaving us with countless memories filled with laughter, love, and a sense of peace.
elevated hMBn6 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Baycrest Foundation for Brain Health, in support of dementia research and programming—a cause close to our hearts, as Don bravely endured the long journey of this devastating disease.
Don was a great Dad , Father in law and first to become a Papa when Grandson Jason was born then Melissa . Then a Papa to three great grandchildren from our children . So many great times together . So many memories to hold . Always saying if he won the lottery he would share with his Children . Which I know he would honour . We Love you and will miss you ❤️ Rest in peace

With loving memories of a lifetime of aging . Don was the most understanding gentleman of his time. He coped with many issues in his life. But always rose above the moment of treating anyone with disrespect. We were together as far as our children were ever concerned. Friends forever. Much love. June
I will always remember Don as the handsome witty gentleman I met over 20 years ago. Over the years although older he maintained the same charm always managed to make you laugh. He will be greatly missed by his loving daughter and grandchildren who were always there for him. Rest is peace.

Don was like family to me. You and June welcomed me into your home, treated me with kindness and made me feel at ease. Your humour, constant whistling a tune and funny sayings are fond memories that will last a lifetime. Jennifer I know how deeply you loved and cared for your dad. I saw the bond you shared—the laughs, the lessons, and the quiet strength he gave you. He raised you with love, guided you with wisdom, and stood beside you through everything. And in doing so, he also impacted the lives of those around you—including mine.
He was a man of integrity, warmth, and generosity. Whether it was a story told around the kitchen table, a ride given without hesitation, or a simple but powerful word of encouragement—he gave freely and wholeheartedly. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will always live on through you and through the countless lives he touched. You were his sole caregiver, you should feel proud of the love you gave to him! He will be watching over Mikaela and Andrea. Although you will miss the laughs and countless card games you shared with your grandfather, you will keep his memory alive with many funny stories of your time together! I will remember Donald as a kind and gentle man. He was a funny guy. He was devotedly cared for by his daugther Jennifer. He will always live in the hearts of his family Jen Mikaela Andrea and amanda. It will be a Tim hortons in heaven for him
My dear father was everything to me, and I was everything to him. At our childhood home, the door was always open to all my friends, and he had nicknames for all of them. Wendy was ‘silent Sally”. He was a hard-working, elegant man who always wore a suit and tie. He had a passion for cooking and loved all animals. I was there for him as a teenager when he needed me, and he was there for me and my children when we needed him. Life was not always kind to him, but he never once complained. I never wanted for anything as a child, and when I was a teenager, he took me to Holt Renfrew on my first shopping spree.
I moved my dad to Toronto aka “The Big Apple,” so I could care for him each and everyday for over a decade. I am my father, kind, loving, compassionate, caring and always happy.
His finale 3 days i held him and pleaded with him not to leave me, my dear friend Wendy was at my side and told him it was time to let him go and tell him it’s ok that she will look after me. Mikaela tried everthing to save him and Andrea did everything to comfort him and make sure he had his last rights.
Dad I promise you I will now find my “forever and always” so I don’t have to walk this earth alone.

I will hold onto my memories of Papa and cherish them forever. I know that he will be greeted with open arms from my dad and brother, together watching over all of us.
One of my favourite memories of papa is when my brother and Andrea snuck him a glass of beer at one of our many family gatherings. I have a video that pops up every year and it never fails to make me smile.
You will be truly missed and I hope there’s endless lotto tickets wherever you are.
Don was one of the kindest men I have ever met. He greeted me every time with the biggest smile and the warmest welcome. He always had a funny story to share with the greatest laugh! Heaven is so lucky to have such a wonderful Angel. You will be missed Don. R.I.P
Don was my uncle. I have many fond memories of him at the 100-acre farm he owned on Line 7 in Oro.
While the children played, he was always making a big Sunday night dinner, a ham or a roast beef, while his wife June had already made pies in the morning.
We loved teasing his own children and has a wicked finger snap.
When life turned and things were not great, he never complained and always kept an open ear to hear from others with a smile.
Who would have thought you would be taken so suddenly, Don. In your later years, the doctors counted you out numerous times, but you always bounced back stronger—that’s why Lisa nicknamed you “Teflon Don.” You were a strong yet gentle-hearted man. No matter what life threw at you, you always faced it with a smile. I will never forget the KitKats you always brought when you visited us as kids. I also remember my mom telling me the story about your birthday surprise—a big truck with a full-size dollhouse on the flatbed. That story truly speaks to the kind, generous man you were. Heaven gained another angel. God is truly lucky to have you by His side. Bye for now
There is not much more I can say about Don….he was everything all those messages said. He helped me through my life as a single Mom. He did love to cook and on Sundays at the farm he always made a traditional English supper… I was lucky my son Troy and I shared that dinner with the family. Don was a family man and loved his children I think when he lost his son Mark and grandson Jacob it stole his heart, but eventually he was able to smile again…..God Bless you Don you were a good brother-in-law and friend
Don, you will be missed by the people who surrounded you with Love. You always wanted to win the lottery but you never even knew you had won it with the unconditional love that your daughter gave you taking care of you for all those years.
I am so glad that i got to spend time with you when I was home. I will cherish those memories forever. See you up there one day for a game of cards and i will bring you a scratcher to.
Sad to hear of my Uncle’s passing, if not for him I would have perished in the early 70’s, he saved me twice from drowning as a little boy🙏 Later on in life I lived with him and my cousins, he was always good to me…RIP Uncle Don, love you ❤️
Sorry to hear about your Fathers passing Jennifer, Todd and the entire Allan Family. The Ross family grew up with the Allan family and spent a lot of time together….lots of Wonderful Memories at the farm on the 7th of Oro or at Lake Simcoe. My Dad (T. Murray Ross) and I saw and spoke with Don back in 2014/2015 outside the Barrie Manor outside, while out for a walk. It was so nice to see him and chat about old times, Don never changed.

My Deepest Sympathy Todd & Tracey. So many wonderful memories of us 55 years ago baling hay, racing around with the tractors, shooting ground hogs out of the sun roof of the Bently, getting the wooden stick for having too much fun. So many great memories of growing up on the Allan farm with you.. Again my deepest Sympathy Todd and Tracy. See you tomorrow.

Very sorry, unable to attend this day, illness in my family, don was a cool guy,and I always looked forward to having my morning coffee with him at Casa cappuccino on Dunlop st for a number of years!!! My love to June and all the family!!!
Our deepest condolences to the Allan family. Jennifer was a loving and devoted daughter. She would take him with her on many outings which made him happy. Lots of pictures of them playing cards, blowing out candles or Bentley on his lap. There was a special relationship and bond between Jennifer and her kids with Donald. May treasured memories bring comfort to all of you.
