It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Edward Eric Chung on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at the age of 54. Ed is predeceased by his beloved father Joseph Chung on July 14, 2021. Ed is survived by his loving mother Margaret, Siblings; Charles (Elaine), Linda (Scott) and Robert (Joyce) and nieces and nephews; Melanie, Rhianna, Trinity, Tyson, Tristan and Tyler.
elevated fGPLu Ed was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and came to Canada with his Mother, Charles, and Linda in 1972. Upon arrival, they were finally all reunited with their Father who was already here establishing home and preparing for their arrival. Together, the family would eventually welcome the arrival of the youngest member, Robert.
elevated fGPLu Ed grew up loving and playing sports. He especially enjoyed playing tennis, badmonton, ping pong and golf. As a sports enthusiast, he remained a diehard Leaf fan, no matter how badly they lost.
elevated fGPLu Throughout his life, Ed may not have been blessed with a healthy body, and yet, Ed was still able to create the perfect soul. One that was generous, kind, and loving to everyone he met. The life of the party with his infectious smile and laughter, he was also, so giving and willing to lend hand and always wanting to help wherever he can.
elevated fGPLu Ed absolutely adored kids too. Whenever he got the chance he would do whatever he could to spend a moment with his nieces and nephews, his cousin’s kids, and any of his friend’s kids. As much as Ed wanted to be with them, the kids always looked forward to being with him also. They already miss their Uncle.

I’ll forever remember you for your kind heart. Ed was undeniably a rare soul, truly selfless and loving to everyone. He was more than just a relative to most; he was a third parent, a brother, and a best friend to us all.
This loss has left a void in many hearts that feels impossible to fill. I have seen sadness and sorrow like i’ve never before seen. As we collectively try to come to terms with our personal loss, I hope that his extensive circle of friends and family can find comfort in knowing that he is now resting comfortably and peacefully.

Words cannot begin to explain the sorrow we all feel in our hearts. You are the standard of kindness and love that everyone else could only try to emulate. You consistently gave everything you could offer to help anyone in need, whether through a few kind words, moral support, physical support or simply with your smile. In the 26 years I’ve known you, you were always there for my family and I. You were first one there at the hospital when my three girls were born. The first to arrive and one of the last to leave our wedding. And always there for any family function or child’s birthday party with your warm soul and heart warming laugh. My dear cousin,
