elevated S62Xy Iolanda Conte (Nee Palumbo)
November 2, 1927-March 27, 2019

elevated S62Xy Surrounded by her family, God called Iolanda peacefully to his side on March 27, 2019 at the age of 91. She will be reunited in heaven with her beloved husband Agostino and grandson Christopher (Walsh). Iolanda will be forever cherished by her children Fiorella (Paul Walsh), Santino (H Santhasingh), Don (Cindy), and Diane (David Rafferty). Iolanda was a loving Nonna to Timothy (Andrea), Mark, Adam (Alicia Stamkos), Ryan, and Christian (Chiara Mabrucco) Walsh; Curtis Conte; and Brian, Shannon and Brendan Rafferty. Ma was a loving bisnonna to Aiden and Reagan Walsh. Awaiting her in heaven will be her sister Luisa, brother-in-law Salvatore DiNardo and brothers Anthony, Frank and Donato. She will be remembered by her brothers Remo (Rita), Albert (Marion), sister Lina (Domenic Pallotta) and sisters-in-law Antoinetta (Anthony), Antionetta (Frank), and Fiorentina (Donato). Family was Iolanda’s priority as she found endless joy in caring for her loved ones. She was always ready to lend a helping hand, provide companionship and cook delicious meals. Her deep faith and beautiful spirit spread well beyond her family as she was always ready to help anyone in need. A highlight of Iolanda’s life was her work in a group home for people with disabilities. Iolanda’s smile will always be remembered alongside her happy demeanour. A testament to this was that even throughout her struggle with Alzheimer’s, Iolanda was always singing and laughing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Ontario to help end this terrible disease.
