It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Jack Quinn on November 5, 2024, at the Scarborough General Hospital.
elevated HjpHE Jack was born on November 27th, 1945, to Alex & Mary Quinn (nee Roy) in Kirkcaldy, in the Kingdom of Fife.
elevated HjpHE Beloved husband of 54 years to Maureen. Loving father to Colin (Dominique) and Ian (Suzanne). Proud grandfather of Parker and Logan. Loving brother of Michael. Predeceased by his mother and father, and brothers, Billy, and Alex.
elevated HjpHE At 15 years of age whilst living in Scotland, Jack apprenticed at McIntosh as a cabinet maker. He moved to Canada in 1966 and worked as a carpenter, until he became a Firefighter in 1985 at the Island Airport. Jack proudly retired as the Fire Chief and Operations Foreman at Billy Bishop Airport.
elevated HjpHE “Jackie” will be sadly missed and held dear in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be lovingly remembered as a man who enjoyed spending time with his friends, Colin, and John, over a pint, and who loved catching a Leafs game with his sons and grandsons. Nothing made Jack happier than having his family together in the same room, alongside his dear wife, Maureen.

Warm and loving memories of Jack, who with Maureen and their boys,always made us so welcome on our visits to Canada. He was a fun guy to be with and exceptional company to share. Thank you for sharing Jack with us and for always making us a welcome, integral part of your family. Jack was a Wolf Cub, a Scout, a Senior Scout, and a Rover Scout with the 1st Fife (St. Marie’s) Scout Group in Kirkcaldy, Scotland. And for his whole life, he was an exemplary Scout: Trustworthy, loyal, helpful, brotherly, courteous, kind, obedient, smiling, thrifty, clean in body and mind. He was also generous to a fault and had a great sense of humour. We loved him dearly. He will be greatly missed.
Dear Maureen and family we offer our condolences at this sad time. We miss Jack. He always greeted us with a a cheery chat each morning on his park walk. Jack was so proud of his family and loved telling us about his adventures with Parker and Logan.

Jack was not only a Fire Chief to us, but a mentor and dear friend. His leadership, patience and friendly nature always made it an honor to work under him. From Jacks witty humor to his stories and love for his family was an inspiration to us all. Our memories of Jack will never be forgotten, Chief Quinn will be greatly missed.

Jack was one of the few people who would always go that extra mile to help family and friends I first met Jack and Colin 75yrs ago and we had many adventures in Scotland. Jack especially liked hiking and climbing mountains. His two proudest moments in life was
1) When he married Maureen
2) When he walked the West Highland Way with his two sons last year. Its a hike that many 50 years younger than than Jack do not finish
We will always miss his laughter and support in times of need’

Uncle Jack to us was a very kind and funny man, i don’t remember ever seeing him without a smile on his face. Jack’s brother Billy ,my dad were very close as were all the Quinn brothers. Very lucky that all of them got on so well. Jack will be missed so much but i’m betting he is with my Dad ,Alex and their Mum and Dad right now. Forever in our hearts,
