Jay Michael Crowley was born in February 1960 in Peterborough, Ontario, to Gregory Crowley and Shirley Shaughnessy Crowley. He passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with stage 4 kidney cancer, having been diagnosed on October 8, 2023. Jay faced his illness with strength, faith, and quiet perseverance for two years and three months.
Jay dedicated 25 years of faithful service to Toronto Community Housing, where he was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to help others. He took pride in his work and the community he served.
On September 17, 1994, Jay married the love of his life, Rosana Crowley. Together they built a life grounded in love, commitment, and shared faith. He was a devoted and loving husband, a caring brother to Brian Crowley, a beloved son, uncle, and a dependable handyman always ready to lend a helping hand.
Jay was a devoted Catholic who faithfully served and volunteered at the Church of the Good Shepherd. His faith was central to his life and sustained him through both joyful and challenging seasons. He deeply valued fellowship and enjoyed socializing, connecting easily with people from all walks of life.
An adventurous spirit at heart, Jay loved skating, playing hockey, traveling, and embracing new experiences. He was also a passionate animal lover, showing kindness and gentleness to all God’s creatures.
Jay will be remembered for his generosity, warm heart, strong hands, and steadfast faith. He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and quiet strength that will continue to live on in all who knew him.
May he rest in eternal peace.

I sincerely appreciate all your help, Your support has been a lifeline. Thank you Dave for being there always, your daily praying with Jay means a lot to us. Thank you!
On Thursday afternoon, Jay met God face to face and this would have been a beautiful encounter.
Jay was such a kind, generous ,warm and understanding person whom I expect learned very early in life , how to be an attentive listener. He listened in such a way that made you comfortable and feeling that he really cared about what you had to say.
Jay shared his suffering these past months with us —- his friends at Good Shepherd Church . We felt that we could ask him very easily and openly as to how he was. He gave us an opportunity to be compassionate and for this I am most grateful . Rose was a very important part of this , as she sat quietly beside Jay.
We, at Good Shepherd have been so blessed to be Jay and Rose’s friends and Rose , I am sure that God will send you great strength and peace during this difficult time.
Carol, thank you for these kind words and prayers. Jay will surely looking upon us and grateful too.

My condolences to Rose who was Jay’s support during his battle. Jay had great faith and strength. When diagnosed he accepted it with grace and without complaint, and put his trust in the Lord. I will miss him greatly, especially as an usher at our 4.30pm Saturday mass. He always stepped up when needed for special occasions.

I met Jay almost 20 years ago at Good Shepherd Parish.
Among his numerous volunteer positions Jay was a Minister of Communion, along with his lovely wife Rose, and we were often scheduled to serve together at the Saturday 4:30 Mass.
Jay was exceptionally gentle, quiet, thorough, and precise in his various volunteer roles at our Church.
I, and many others, enjoyed Jay’s calm, unfailingly friendly and capable manner at parish gatherings.
I will miss Jay very much, and I know a great many others will as well.
I offer my sincere condolences to Rose, and to Jay’s entire family. Jay is at peace, with gentle Jesus.
Margaret, Thank you for your kind words. It brings comfort to know Jay touched so many lives. Your support means a lot to us.

My sincere condolences to you, Rose, and to the entire family.
Although we met only eight years ago, the time I spent with you and Jay remains vivid and deeply joyful. You truly made me feel like family — always warm, welcoming, and kind.
I was grateful to God to visit Jay at North York General Hospital recently. Even in the midst of his suffering, he carried a gentle smile and a peaceful strength that spoke volumes.
Jay’s faithfulness to Jesus — from walking five kilometres through the snow in his younger years to attend Sunday Mass, to a lifetime of generosity and service to others — will surely be remembered by the Lord. His kindness and willingness to help people along life’s journey, including myself, will always be appreciated and remembered.
May he now hear the loving words of Jesus:
“Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your master.”
With prayers ,
Deacon Bosco & Camilla
