elevated JXr90 It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, John Nugent, who passed away suddenly on October 24, 2025, at the age of 86.
elevated JXr90 John was born on October 21, 1939, in Glasgow, Scotland, where he grew up with his Mother and three sisters. He moved with his Mother to Canada at the age of 14 where they were reunited with his eldest sister Ann.
elevated JXr90 A gifted student, John attended the University of Toronto at age 17, earning a degree in Electrical Engineering. He later pursued his Master’s in Business part-time. His education and dedication led him to a successful career with Bell Canada, where he worked until his retirement at age 55.
elevated JXr90 On July 10th 1965 John married Barbara (Barb) Julien. Together they shared 55 wonderful years of marriage. A devoted husband and father, John’s life centered around his family, faith, and community.
elevated JXr90 In retirement, John, a devout Catholic, became an active member of his local parish, St. Luke’s in Thornhill. He was very involved with the Knights of Columbus, Society of Saint Vincent de Paul and the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. His faith and service were his guiding light.
elevated JXr90 John will be dearly missed by his children Patrick (Kirsten), Christopher, and Anne-Marie (Bastian), and by his cherished grandchildren Jack and Charlotte. We will forever treasure his memory and draw inspiration from his strength, kindness, and love.
elevated JXr90 We take comfort in knowing that John is now reunited with his mother Annie Nugent; his sisters Ann Warnock (Walter), Rose Mair (Peter), and Kay Featherstone (Frank); his son John Thomas; and his beloved wife, Barb, who have all predeceased him.
elevated JXr90 John will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Dear Patrick , Christopher and Anne-Marie
Your dad and mom and your entire family have always been so special to my entire family over the years.
From the day I met your mom in 1965 our friendship was special and enduring.
We married and had our families and our husbands became friends.
Your dad and I spoke often after your mom’s passing and we took great comfort in sharing our memories of our loving spouses.
May your dad rest in peace with all his loved ones who passed before him and may you all find deep comfort in your special memories.
Lovingly
Rosalee and the entire Berlin Family .
I really appreciate your support during this time, means more to me than words can express
Dear Patrick, Christopher and Ann-Marie
I will truly miss John especially going for coffee Sunday morning after mass. There were 6 of us your dad, myself and Joe and Mary Vaccari and Maria and Lino Desira. Dad missed your mom Barbara and we did too.
My deepest sympathies, thoughts and prayers are with you at this very difficult time.
RIP John
Marie Ceolin
