elevated jgU8B It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, John Nugent, who passed away suddenly on October 24, 2025, at the age of 86.

elevated jgU8B John was born on October 21, 1939, in Glasgow, Scotland, where he grew up with his Mother and three sisters. He moved with his Mother to Canada at the age of 14 where they were reunited with his eldest sister Ann.

elevated jgU8B A gifted student, John attended the University of Toronto at age 17, earning a degree in Electrical Engineering. He later pursued his Master’s in Business part-time. His education and dedication led him to a successful career with Bell Canada, where he worked until his retirement at age 55.

elevated jgU8B On July 10th 1965 John married Barbara (Barb) Julien. Together they shared 55 wonderful years of marriage. A devoted husband and father, John’s life centered around his family, faith, and community.

elevated jgU8B In retirement, John, a devout Catholic, became an active member of his local parish, St. Luke’s in Thornhill. He was very involved with the Knights of Columbus, Society of Saint Vincent de Paul and the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. His faith and service were his guiding light.

elevated jgU8B John will be dearly missed by his children Patrick (Kirsten), Christopher, and Anne-Marie (Bastian), and by his cherished grandchildren Jack and Charlotte. We will forever treasure his memory and draw inspiration from his strength, kindness, and love.

elevated jgU8B We take comfort in knowing that John is now reunited with his mother Annie Nugent; his sisters Ann Warnock (Walter), Rose Mair (Peter), and Kay Featherstone (Frank); his son John Thomas; and his beloved wife, Barb, who have all predeceased him.

elevated jgU8B John will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
