elevated DHo6x The Life and Legacy of Marcus

elevated DHo6x Born in Zanzibar, Marcus was forced to grow up quickly when he was sent to boarding school  in Belgaum, Goa, India at the age of 8. He returned to Zanzibar when he was 17 years old where he spent a short time with his family before moving to Nairobi, Kenya to work for East African Airways. Marcus moved on to the City Council of Nairobi where he received an honorary award for 25 years of service and was named “most honest man to work in the Treasury Department” by Mayor Margaret Kenyatta. In 1980, Marcus and Molly decided to immigrate to Canada. With four kids to raise, they had to work hard at starting a new life. Forty years later, they have grown their family to be as industrious and caring as they were.

elevated DHo6x Marcus was a man of few words, but when he spoke, everybody listened. We were fortunate to have him as a dad and our ‘Papa’ and have learned so much from his actions.  He had many talents amongst which was his passion for cricket. Marcus was also exceptionally good with his hands, both in his workshop and in the kitchen. His warm and generous personality will be remembered by all–forever ready to help friends and family in need. All he would ask is that you pay it forward.
