Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Loredana Matar, a woman whose laugh could fill a house and whose smile could light up a neighbourhood. She was always full of life, endlessly creative, and never without a joke tucked into her bra.

Loredana leaves behind her husband of 44 years, Michel, who was her partner in love and laughter. She is cherished by her daughters, Marilu, mother to her three epic grandchildren—Pyrs, Alayna, and Jace—and Monique, along with son-in-law Brandon, who blessed her with her grandson Chayce and a precious baby girl on the way. Loredana’s grandchildren were her world and her favourite excuse to buy Boboas, sprinkles, and entirely too many toys.

Loredana’s legacy is one of warmth, creativity, humour, and heart. She was a master of many things: crafting one-of-a-kind masterpieces, cooking meals that made you forget your problems, and baking treats that mysteriously disappeared before they ever had time to cool. But her greatest passion was being a Nonna—a role she filled with pride, enthusiasm, and always too much spoiling.

Though she may no longer be crafting at the dining room table or telling jokes that made us blush, her love continues to shine through the countless memories she created. In true Loredana style, she’d want us to honour her legacy by smiling together, sharing some laughs, and getting the heck out of her kitchen.

Rest peacefully Mom, you will forever be missed. Snuggle with Nonna, have some fun, and cause a little mischief. Your light will forever glow in the hearts of all who knew you.

Until we meet again, our beautiful, divine angel. Infinite hugs and kisses.

In lieu of flowers, if so desired, memorable donations can be made in Loredana’s name to Margaret Bahen Hospice, who provided mom with amazing care and support.
