With great sadness and broken hearts, we share the news of the passing of Milivoj (Mike) Fijan surrounded by his family at home on the morning of January 23, 2019 in his 80th year. He leaves behind his loving wife of 50 years, Ana (nee Tkalec), his dear girls, Nancy, Doris (Dino Leo), Frances (Tomas Hinojosa), and Erica (Ian Mitchell), his sweet grandchildren, Dr. Michael Anthony Ruiz, Gloria Raquel Ruiz and her partner Patrick Alexander Berretta, Markus Scott Ruiz and his fiancé Rachael Rochelle Sarah Cosby, Eva Xochitl Fijan Hinojosa, Leila Ixchel Fijan Hinojosa and Jaclyn Fijan Mitchell, his brothers, Bogumil, and his family in Croatia, and Charles in Vancouver, his many special friends and neighbours, and his faithful dog, Karchie. He will always be remembered for his wonderful humour and leaves a legacy of hard work, integrity and love for family. Special thanks to all the health care providers at Trillium Mississauga Hospital, Mississauga Halton LHIN, The Dorothy Ley Hospice, and Saint Elizabeth Nurses for making his final journey comfortable.
