elevated dVJZX With family by his side, Onofrio Faiola passed away peacefully in his 75th year. Affectionately known as a beloved husband, father, grandfather/Nonno, brother, uncle, and friend, he was a cherished presence in the lives of all who knew and loved him. As a devoted and loving husband, he leaves behind his wife, Filomena. As a proud and dedicated father, he leaves behind his son, Gianni. He was a kind and generous father-in-law to Giovanna. Onofrio was the beloved grandfather/Nonno to Alessia, Gianluca, and Mauro. He was a thoughtful and dependable brother to his predeceased older brother, Rocco, and his younger brother, Attilio. He is also predeceased by his parents, Emilio and Regina.
elevated dVJZX Onofrio was born on November 11, 1950 in Campodimele, Italy, a small, picturesque hilltop village in the region of Lazio and the province of Latina. In September of 1968, he migrated to Toronto, Ontario, Canada in order to look for job opportunities, where he began his career in construction, specifically, high-rise buildings, until he switched careers in 1988, where he began working for the York Catholic District School Board as a custodian, until he reached retirement at the ripe age of 62.
elevated dVJZX Onofrio was a strong, hardworking, and selfless man whose gentle nature and full-hearted laughter filled every room he entered. He always said yes when someone needed him, never hesitating to put the happiness of others before his own. He found joy in life’s simple and meaningful pleasures, like making homemade wine, soppressata, and sausages, trying new recipes, tending to his garden, caring for his chickens, and sharing his harvest with family and friends. He loved to stay active by going for long walks, dancing, playing Italian music, playing Italian card games, and bringing people together, creating memories that will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
elevated dVJZX His greatest pride was his family. The values of strength, generosity, perseverance, and unconditional love that he instilled in them will continue for generations. Onofrio was dearly loved and will be fondly and forever remembered.
elevated dVJZX in memory of Onofrio, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Sending our sincere condolences to Filomena, John and his family.
Onofrio was a kind neighbor who always said hello in passing.
We will miss seeing his spectacular garden from our back yard. A true passion of his that you can tell he took pride in.
May you rest in peace Onofrio.
I was blessed to have a father-in-law who welcomed me with kindness and treated me as his own. His quiet strength, gentle heart, and deep love for his family will never be forgotten.
Thank you for the example you set, for the stories you shared, and for the love you gave so generously. You will always hold a special place in my heart.
Nonno, it doesn’t feel real that you aren’t physically here, but in my heart, I know that we have all gained a guardian angel. I cherish the times and memories when you’d always take me on walks in the park to go see the ducks in the pond — even if you had work in just a few minutes, take me for lunch, take me shopping, bring me to school, play scopa & briscola, and so much more that you always said yes to without ever hesitating.
Your unconditional love, wisdom, humour, and strength will never be forgotten. Thank you for all the laughs you gave us all — especially to myself, Gianluca, and Mauro; I still watch all those funny videos we have and will always remember the funny things you’d say. You will forever hold a special place in our hearts nonno. We love and miss you so much <3
