It was in these university years that Peter met Opus Dei, whose spirit would inspire his entire life. He had no idea what adventure was in store! Â

Dear Rebello Family,
I was an eye witness to all the wonderful words above. He really was a dear lover of life. He always called on my dad’s birthday. Such detail. His blessings are now the “Rebello Village” which will live on. Rest in peace Peter. With love and prayers.

Heart felt sypmathies to the whole family. He was an inspiration for my husband to join the work. Always fondly remember his warm smile. May he rest in peace.
We thank God for the gift of Peter Rebello. What a man!
I first met Peter 4 years ago. And as soon as I arrived at his house with a friend, he invited us to dine with the family. The conversation we had that day appeared to be that of longtime friends. He stayed in touch with me even when I lived 4 hours from Toronto. He leaves a wonderful example for us all. Rest in peace, Peter.
Rest in God’s peace, dear Peter.
It’s a great missing.
My condolences to the entire Rebello’s family.

Our condolences to the entire family.
Rest in peace, Rebello!
Dear Louise and family, I am a testament to the true words shared about the life of kindness and love Peter lived and showed to all around him.
Peter was a great friend and support to my husband during his illness, and up to his final seconds here on earth. The rosary he was saying hours before he passed on, and which he eventually took to his grave, was Peter’s. That is how much of a family you and Peter became to us in the most difficult season of our lives.
Peter was a wonderful soul and had a deep desire to make people happy. He took over the grocery shopping for my family, and did the hospital runs for Chichi including the difficult visit to the doctor where we got the saddest news. Peter also ensured that Chi’s spiritual needs where catered to as he frequently took him to the centre to see a priest of the work.
He sought hard to help me find me a job when I was new to Canada, and you both went above and beyond to help us settle in.
I could go on and on about Peter. However, I know that Peter has gone to be with the Lord and with his friend, Chi and I will try to take consolation in that.
I am praying for you and your family
Eternal rest grant unto Peter O Lord and let perpetual light shine on him. May His soul rest in peace, Amen.
From the moment I met Peter in the summer of 2023 he had a tremendous impact on my life. Peter has taught me how to deepen my faith, how to be a better father, how to work harder, how to keep light and joyful (even in the midst of tremendous suffering), how to use my mind and think strategically, how to give to others. He was such a remarkable man. A true Christian. I’m lucky to have met him. I will miss him.
Our condolences to Louise and family.
May Peter rest in peace!
Dear Louise and all, my sincere condolences. You are in my prayers especially in these days. To our beloved Peter: please keep helping us from heaven – we all need to get there!
My condolences to Louise and family.
I feel so fortunate to have recently gotten to know Peter. What an inspiration. What hope. What a vision he opens for how to live, and love intelligently, intentionally and humbly.
With the hope of heaven, and his intercession along with his friendship with the angels and saints, the best is yet to come. Pray for us here below.
Dear Louise and the Rebello family.
My wife and I send our sincere condolences. We learnt of Peter’s death with great shock, he will be sorely missed. He spared nothing to see to the needs of others, physically and spiritually, a soldier of Christ and a dear friend.
May Peter’s gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
All my thoughts are with Louise and the whole family during these difficult times. I was deeply saddened to hear of Mr. Rebello’s passing. I had the chance to meet Mr. Rebello several times through my work, and I came to know a man with a big heart, full of kindness and empathy.
I will always remember the warm welcome he and Louise gave me at their home in Toronto, where they opened their door to help me learn English.
His humanity and kindness will remain etched in my heart. Rest in peace Peter.🕊️
Dear Rebello family:
Please accept my prayers and condolences for your tremendous loss. May God comfort you in the days ahead.
Requiescat in pace.
Peter your departure creates vacuum in my life and my family I met Peter at Hawthorn around 2009 and since then he and his wife had been like Angel disciplining me through deeds of love and patience. Meeting him made my migration to Canada meaningful and purposeful for eternity. Thank God for giving Peter to us and others.

Peter was a man after God’s own heart….a man with a large heart.
“You have fought the good fight, You have finished the race, You have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for you the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to you” 2Timothy 4:7-8.
May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
Dear Louise and all.
My wife and I send our sincere condolences. We are saddened by the news of Peter’s death but give glory to God for the life he lived. His life was that of service to humanity, and touched us positively. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
When my family first arrived in Toronto and found themselves stranded after a canceled flight, not knowing anyone, Peter Rebello and his wife Louise welcomed them with open arms. They took them in and became family. From that moment, Peter never stopped checking in on us. His kindness, warmth, and quiet generosity left a lasting mark on our lives. Our daughters, Dili and Zina, have since formed beautiful friendships with his grandchildren, a bond that continues his legacy of connection and care.
Ngozi, the girls and I mourn the loss of a truly good man. Peter, thank you for everything. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
We are going to miss Peter very much Just last month I spoke to Peter, always caring always ready to talk I had no idea we would get this news so soon. He left a wonderful and gentle stamp on us but especially Gary.
He would call Gary just to say hello and his soft gentle Guidance always made us appreciate our friendship with the Louise Peter and the Rebello family.
I cannot imagine how much love and influence he imparted on his family. His is a life well lived WHAT A LEGACY he left behind.
His memories live on through us all who were blessed to call him a friend
