elevated KJabc It is with great sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of Rosa D’Arecca (née Santeramo). She was born on March 6, 1935, in Ferrandina, Matera, Italy and died on May 23, 2020, in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
elevated KJabc Rosa was predeceased by her husband Luigi of 62 years. She was the loving mother of predeceased son, Enzo (Stefanie) and daughter Rosemary (Sam) Marra. Her memory will live on in her grandchildren: Krista Rose (Luigi), Andrea, John-Lui, and Jessica (Trevor). She reunites in heaven with her parents Michele and Maria, sister Angela, and brother Giovanni. She will be missed by her sister-in-law Rosa, nieces, nephews, and friends. Rosa will forever be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the profound love that she had for her family. Her love of cooking and gathering around the table for delicious meals united three generations at many cherished occasions. Rosa’s perseverance and strength will never be forgotten.

elevated KJabc Given the current situation, the family is having a private service at Blessed Trinity Parish. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home and entombment will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Thornhill, Ontario. In honour of Rosa’s memory, please consider making a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.

My heart goes out to you all during this very sad time. The funeral service was extremely moving. The readings were lovngly read with the musical selections so beautifully sung. The tribute at the beginning gave us all a deeper insight of a wonderful and caring person whose family meant everything to her. I will always remember your mom for her kindness toward me and for her zest for life

Dear Rosemary, it was with great sadness that I heard of Rosetta’s passing away. I have lots of memories of Rosetta. She was a strong willed person and very generous as Jean-Lui said. She was a woman who suffered a lot but was strong enough to keep going and whose priorities in life were her children and grandchildren. We all cherish moments of time passed with her (even if mine are of way back). She has left behind beautiful memories and I’m sure she will be missed.
