elevated GO7Km It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Salvatore (Sal) Mirabelli, at the age of 74. He is survived by his loving wife, Rosa, children Vincent (Eva), Laura (Anthony), Melissa (James), and Stephanie (Gianni), grandchildren Emilia, Stella, Sofia, Adriana, Selena, and Luca, and brothers John (Rosa) and Franco (Nancy).
elevated GO7Km Born in Calabria, Italy, he ventured across the Atlantic Ocean with his mother, Maria Mirabelli (2020), and younger brother John to Toronto, Canada in the 1950s, to join his father, Vincenzo (2005) in search of a better life. Always comfortable in social situations, it didn’t take Sal long to adjust to his new environment, even when his youngest brother, Franco, joined the family. That character of comfort never left him, even in his later years. He had a long career in media with the Scarborough Board, and then, Toronto District School Board, and was seldom seen without a camera (or three) in his hands, even on his children’s wedding days, capturing countless treasured moments with his family, whom he dearly loved.
elevated GO7Km He will always be remembered for his infinite capacity of love, charm, and sharp wit by those whose lives he impacted. He will be immensely missed and will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of his family, and those who loved him.
elevated GO7Km He will be entombed in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
elevated GO7Km In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help combat Prostate cancer through the Canadian Cancer Society.

I would like to offer my sincere condolences to the Mirabelli family. In my time with Franco Mirabelli Designs, Sal would often come to visit Franco at head office. Sal’s passing is a tremendous loss to Rosa, his children and grandchildren and his brothers Franco and John and no words can ever fully express the sorrow a family feels. I am deeply saddened by the passing of Mr. Mirabelli. The Mirabelli family is a huge part of the Mary Ward Tapestry, our school Community shares in your grief and feels your loss greatly.
Mr. Mirabelli served as the photographer for our many school plays and was loved by our whole school community and especially the late Mr. Len Dalton.
I was very blessed to know Mr. Mirabelli as the parent of Vince, Laura, Melissa and Stephanie his wonderful children whom are all Mary Ward Graduates. He was very charismatic, always a perfect gentleman and a very loving and caring parent. I always admired and like him very much.
We will keep the Mirabelli Family in our Prayers. Rest in Peace Sal!

I was so saddened to hear of Mr Mirabelli’s passing. He was a close friend of the Mary Ward family as he supported our Dramatic Arts productions with terrific photography of the cast.
I had the pleasure of having his daughter Laura in my TA group and also teaching his children Stephanie, Melissa and his son-in-law, Gianni.
The Mirabelli’s raised wonderful children and both parents were always active supporters of the school community.

Sentite condoglianze… I haven’t seen Sal since Mary Ward days, but I still remember his positive impact on those around him. Whenever we had our plays, he always made me feel like he was a personal fan of mine and I have never forgotten those tiny moments till this day.
Of course you had more significant memories of Sal and I pray that these timeless moments are able to bring some degree of comfort during this most difficult time.

We are deeply saddened to learn of Sal’s passing. Our children are contemporaries of Sal and Rosa. We spent many a summer evening at the soccer fields with our families together. Sal was always one of the brightest faces on the field with a big smile for everyone and a wave across the field always with a camera in hand as he clicked away.
